Eh. In the beginning they tried punking Rocky cause thats the kind of schoolyard bullshit they were on. He was just another casualty in the Bret/Shawn turf war.

And then Im sure the professional jealousy was at an all time high when Rocky went to the top first. But by the time it was Hunters turn, he rightly knew that he couldn't compete with Rock or Austin and aspired to be the top heel instead.

That's a pretty big concession and shows that ultimately he knew it was better to work with than against.
