For those who have asked, we are told the back and forth between Jade Cargill and other WWE performers yesterday was not something devised by WWE Creative with a number of sources placing the blame for the blow-up on Cargill.
One source noted that Cargill has been criticized by a number of talents for how she rubs others the wrong way and that when the back and forth with Rhea began, it wasn't hard for others to want to jump in and voice their opinions. They cited this wasn't the first time Cargill has upset others with how she conducted herself and intimated that when there were erroneous reports about Cargill being hurt last year, the real reason she disappeared and spent time in the WWE Performance Center was to let personal issues going on at the time subside with the passing of time.
Another source in the company tried to downplay the situation, but later admitted that sooner or later, they expected management would have to step in and speak to Cargill about her relationship with the locker room. The source noted that everyone in the locker room has been happy to do whatever they need to do to get Cargill over but that the respect they show her does not often feel requited. They described it as Cargill coming off "insecure" when she shouldn't have any reason to feel that way.
A source close to Cargill blew off the entire situation, citing she is a "Type A personality" and this is what happens when competitive personalities are in the same space.
Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill had a war of words on social media.
Ripley and Jade Cargill are slated to compete at WrestleMania, and went back and forth on Twitter. Fightful spoke to a number of sources who believed that the comments started as a playful work, and took a turn when Jade Cargill mentioning Rhea Ripley talking to creative for extended periods of time. After that, we’re told things took a more serious turn.
There were a number of WWE sources that were puzzled about bringing creative up as a point to further a feud. However, we’re told that WWE was generally happy about the buzz that emerged from it and the feeling that Ripley and Cargill have a legitimate dislike of one another, whether it be real or not.
There is no concern from WWE sources that the two will work together. When reports emerged that it was entirely an elaborate work, one source in creative said “we would never include a mention of creative as a part of that, it undermines the point.”
The comments about vacations from Piper Niven was a reference to rumors that Jade Cargill didn’t want to work the 2024 Holiday tour because of a planned vacation. When Jade was legitimately injured, there were even conflicting reports claiming she was actually on vacation instead of being injured. However, it was clarified to Fightful repeatedly she had sustained an actual injury.
Fightful reported in January that the locker room had taken notice of the fact that Tiffany Stratton, Michin and B-Fab missed time with injury after wrestling Cargill. However, it was stated to us that there wasn’t heat from management for Cargill.
Sources near Cargill blew off and dismissed the situation as not a big deal. Others in the locker room said that they are of the belief that it ended up not being a worked interaction, but the two will do business together.
There doesn’t appear to be real heat on anyone for their tweets. Despite Ringside News irresponsibly aggregating our Q&A, we haven’t heard of any real heat on Jade Cargill from the office, either.
