The publishing of Pro Wrestling Illustrated's PWI 500 today featured former TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich being listed in the top 25 of the compilation of 500 "top" pro wrestlers for the past year.

The publication of the magazine article also opened a Pandora's Box of allegations against Slamovich that played out on social media after a friend of her former boyfriend AKIRA, who has performed for MLW and other promotions in the past, called out Slamovich for allegedly abusing AKIRA physically and mentally over the course of their relationship.

Those allegations included a link to a dropbox featuring over 100 unverified screenshots of texts between the two that appeared to feature Slamovich admitting to hitting AKIRA, alleged demands for money and what could only be described as emotional abuse. The social media posts also featured photos of cuts and bruises on Akira's face and wrists. The texts would range from 2022 to earlier this year.

Akira later took to social media, confirming the allegations and stating that on three occasions he "almost killed" himself.

Slamovich has not responded to the allegations but several independent promotions including Prestige Wrestling and West Coast Pro Wrestling announced she would no longer appear on upcoming dates for the companies. Whether Slamovich removed herself or was pulled by the promotions is as of this writing unclear.

One thing is clear. TNA has taken notice of the allegations. When reached this evening for comment, the promotion issued the following - "We take any allegations like this very serious and have begun an internal investigation." They issued the same statement to Sports Illustrated and other outlets as well.

PWInsider.com has been unable to confirm whether that means Slamovich has been pulled from this weekend's Victory Road PPV in Edmonton as well as the subsequent TV taping, which would be the final tapings before Bound for Glory on 10/12.

Slamovich, 27, has been with TNA since late 2021 and also regularly performs for GCW and a number of other independent promotions.

Oh shit!!! Well that explains a lot like how she was abruptly written off nxt last nite and neither Fallon or Jacy gave a fuck. She rarely ever stepped into the ring also. Always wondered what would happen if Fallon and Jacy got the call. Welp now we know

PWInsiderElite.com has confirmed that WWE wrote Jazmyn Nyx out of company storyline last night as she turned down an offer to sign a new deal with the company.

Multiple sources have confirmed that she declined what WWE offered her. When her existing contract expires, she would be free and clear to wrestle anywhere she chooses - if she wishes.

TNA Knockouts Champion Ash by Elegance vs. Masha Slamovich looks to have been pulled from this Friday's Victory Road PPV as the company conducts an internal investigation into domestic abuse allegations against Slamovich that surfaced yesterday online.

All references to the match have been removed from TNA's website.

Ash was at last night's NXT as part of the TNA invasion. Slamovich was not.

Interesting

a little fire broke out (where else) on social media yesterday when an exchangebetween Gail Kim and GCW owner Brett Lauderdale led to someone asking the TNA Hall of Famer for her thoughts on Jim Cornette’s commentary about female Asian wrestlers.
Kim asked for examples, and was sent a playlist of Cornette’s comments about AEW’s Riho. She indicates she listened to at least one of the “clips” from that playlist before responding:
The only issue that I had was that he made a comment about her teeth. I will say, and I haven’t watched AEW in a very long time, but when I did watch Riho and nothing against her at all bc I am The biggest supporter of all women who wanna make it in this business, but I did feel uncomfortable watching her because the camera shots would go up her skirt and she was always dressed like a very little girl and it felt improper
I am also into very believable Wrestling. Not everyone is especially nowadays. And it was very hard for me to believe a little girl that was being portrayed of that size was fighting the women they had in that division. To put it into context, I find Io, Mia, Asuka, Kairi and Lei Ying to be more believable and I don’t feel uncomfortable watching

Because it’s a position on the internet, some people were already going to take issue with Kim’s opinion. But Gail drew more responses because her in-ring career and time working behind-the-scenes at TNA make her a prominent figure in the industry. One common response was t0 question why Kim didn’t have believability issues during her own feuds with Awesome Kong, or when she helped book Tessa Blanchard as Impact’s World Heavyweight champion. To that she responded:
there are times when there are tiny wrestlers who don’t look believable against bigger wrestlers at times. That’s just the nature of our business so get over it.
She was also called out for bringing up 28-year-old Riho’s youthful looks and schoolgirl-ish presentation, to which Gail replied that it was simply based on “a few shows” and just her opinion. She also praised several AEW women:
I watched her years ago and that’s what I commented on. I love Toni Storm. I think she’s doing the best work of her career; I like Kris Statlander; but I do want to watch more. I have a bias with [former TNA Knockouts champion] Deonna [Purrazzo] so I wish they would do more with her too

But the fact she didn’t condemn Cornette, criticized the first AEW Women’s World champion, and listed exclusively WWE and TNA Asian women’s wrestlers as positive examples was a combination that was too much for a certain kind of online AEW fan to abide*. It led to the usual predictable cycle of assumptions, bad-faith arguments and insults. If you enjoy arguing online — and Gail seems to, coming back to this topic a couple times after swearing she’d leave it alone — there’s lots for you on her timeline. If you’re like me, you were probably happy to see it end…
Until AEW’s Kenny Omega subtweeted Kim today (Sept. 24):
Another day and another “legend” doing the splits on it for the yearly TKO gift basket…
Riho is no longer on X/Twitter due to bullying she’s been subjected to on the platform — another element of this particular internet mess. But Omega is friends with her and has ties to most of the joshi wrestlers in AEW from his time and connections in Japan. He’s also had his own issues with Cornette in the past, who’s been accused of encouraging the hate and ridicule that Riho experiences online.
So it didn’t take much research to figure out what Kenny was likely referring to in his post. But while I don’t think some of Kim’s arguments are great, I also don’t see her as someone who would try to curry favor with WWE. She’s famously had issues with the company, and was fired from TNA by the promotion’s current president and cheerleader for their WWE partnership, Carlos Silva. In addition to her own career success, Gail’s also married to food entertainment titan Robert Irvine. She doesn’t need money.

Roman Reigns is scheduled to finish filming Street Fighter tomorrow, according to sources close to the production, PWInsiderElite.com can confirm.

Reigns is playing Akuma in the film, which will be released theatrically next year. The film has been shooting in Sydney, Australia.

This would mean Reigns would be available to resume appearances for WWE shortly, if their creative dictates so.

Riho does look like a lil girl, that's not anyone's fault. I don't recall seeing the camera go up her wrestling gear

Her skirt usually goes up because it’s so loose

Remember when mickie james would wear those shirts in wwe when she was nice and thick? Difference is I liked seeing mickie in that and not riho
