It better be. Cuz if this shyt flops...fingers will be pointed
Well you got 20M folks that won't be able to watch (at least not free) because WWE couldn't make deals with certain providers like Sling & YouTubeTV. WWE was so damn greedy they didn't even wait to finish out the PPV schedule at the end of the year.

They didn't sell it out. They didn't even come close. They did a great number but one that was less than the year before, which was lower than the year before that. And the higher numbers mind you, were for international shows which have performed better than their domestic shows.

Their attendance is declining and has been declining for years now. Since they chased Punk out of town. There's no indication that they will turn it around in the next 18 months either. They just finished a residency where they performed a month worth of shows in front of less than a 1000 people per show. And that wasn't the first ballroom residency nor the last. Like come on, they are visibly struggling.

All in did a great number, but that was after they gave out large amounts of tickets in the lead-up to the show. There was a lot of papering to even achieve that number, and there's no guarantee that they would be able to even do that much 18 months from now. Quick, who is going to headline this supposed show? Kyle Fletcher? Hangman Page? Jon Moxley? Toni Storm?

All I was saying, was that it's obviously bad business to try and counterprogram Wrestlemania. Is that really such a controversial statement? You really expect huge swarths of fans not to WATCH Wrestlemania and instead travel and pay premium prices to literally any other wrestling show?!
NOBODY is saying by AEW hosting an american stadium show later that night is going to cause folks to avoid Mania or not watch Thats how I know your not trying to grasp what folks are saying you just see WWE and AEW in the same sentence and it sets off alarms in your head. lol Relax man their is no need to a brand war debate...

at the end of the day man all folks are saying is it would be smart for Khan to host another stadium show around Mania since there will be a void that year for 50+ thousands of fans who love to travel and experience all that comes with Mania and look forward to that weekend(indie shows and meet and greets, events like STARRCAST). If AEW could put together a great card show along with all those weekend events now surrounding their show they could have a hell of a weekend.

You cant tell me these super fans out here who travel to all these type of things are unlikely to attend, they still looking for that weekend fix and AEW has a great opportunity to do something special here and it benefits them greatly.

Stephen A Smith making Goldberg his number 1 makes sense. Guys his age around 97-99 were huge Goldberg fans just look at the crowd during those Nitros they would go CRAZY. That's probably his peek memory of Goldberg and valid. He doesn't give me the vibe he watched wrestling after that period.

I never got down with Mr Kennedy, that's around 07 when I got back into wrestling and outside the mic nothing stood out about him I didnt get why some folk were considering him the future outside of a dope mic intro. Even when he was in TNA I just didnt get the hype.

another victim of Orton being a hoe tho.

Look I ain't gonna speak for Ice. He said it would be the "easiest slam dunk they could possibly do business wise." Which it is just not.

WWE is just going to announce that all of the normal fan events are going to be attached to another event during the year, and fans will go to that. And that'll be it. If you try and have a Wrestlemania week without Wrestlemania it's not going to work and thinking that AEW could put on a show that would fill that void is just flat out delusional. Like for real, I am actually sorry, it's all love and all that. But what else can I call it and keep it a bean? It's delusion. We legit don't even know if AEW will survive the WBD split/potential acquisition. And if it does survive, we don't know in what form. But yall trying to fantasy book a stadium show that could replace Wrestlemania. The shit just doesn't jibe with reality.

I initially was not a fan. The entrance was cool, but he debuted during a boring time in the WWE to me. Though the more I watched his matches, I started to like him. I like his TNA run more than his WWE run though.

This aint about WWE v AEW. Because that ain't a thing. TNA is putting out shows that have outdrawn AEW within the last month. There's a better than average chance that by Mania '27 AEW is the 3rd promotion in North America. IF they are even around at all.

Its a fucking cult and I can't understand it. Like cool you like the wrestling. All good. But it's clearly not a sustainable business. The biggest star they ever had said as much.

How can anyone look at that chart and think that AEW in 2027 will be in position to run a show that fills the void of Wrestlemania? They have been losing audience share for THREE YEARS.

Your still missing the point man. Ofcourse its not going to be as big as Mania but its an opportunity to still be a big weekend in general expecially on Mania weekend. Ofcourse WWE can come back and do a BIG show the next month but who cares AEW and whatever festivities from other promotions and events would of already benefited from Mania weekend setting up shop in the states. Nothing more or less.

lol Bro stop it. Im not saying history repeats itself like this but WWF in 94/95 were losing their audience share it only took a year for a spark that led to bigger interet and audiences to grow. Just like nobody thought TNA would be worth talking about and having a buzz 2 years ago in 2025. Now on the reason why that's another story lol but they have way more interest and eyes on them when they were buzz dead for years before recent so anything can happen between now and 2027....AND EVEN IF THEY DONT grow but still have tv deals and have the funds it would be a great move for that weekend. Roll the dice.

No I fully understand your point. I just don't agree with it. You see an opportunity that does not exist. Those other promotions, the conventions, and most importantly the fans will just attach themselves to whatever other offering WWE presents them with. That's why its bad business. AEW does not have the juice to be the center of all of that.

It's Stone Cold Steve Austin walking through that door? Cause if he's not... Look let's level with each other. Tony Khan ain't making shit hot and we both know it. AEW is a niche product and that's all its gonna be. Cause reality is that's all they want to be. For the Sickos, right?

End of the day. AEW is in major fucking trouble. Why does liking it, prevent you and others from admitting that objectionable reality? That's what makes shit seem like a cult. They are doing terrible business metrics and have been on a downward slope for years. They running shows out of venues that are smaller than the venue that held my Junior Prom. Their TV deal is up in the air due to reasons well outside of their control. Hopefully it works out, but WCW already showed us an example of what it looks like when it doesn't, and with the same media company no less. WWE has also strategically been boxing them out of other TV networks so there's a dearth of other options available to them. Like this shit is happening for all to see, I know YOU see it. So why we gotta pretend man? Just cause you like it? Tough shit bro.

My dude approaching Shenco status
Oh you like that one huh? Here, have another.

What is an ad hominem fallacy?
In a debate or discussion, a person using an ad hominem attack will shift focus from the issue at hand to irrelevant personal details about their opponent. This is considered a poor form of argumentation and faulty reasoning because a person's character, circumstances, or motives have no bearing on the validity of their claims.

@Iceberg_Taylor when you peace'd out earlier. What did I do? I wished you well and kept it moving. I responded to OG since he responded to me. No more, no less. Now here you come tryna diss. Next you up in the reactions. Its clown behavior bro.

You got a point to make? Then make it. If you don't then keep it pushing. But you ain't finna act like I'm on some weirdo shit just cause the wrestling you like ain't doing numbers. That's crazy. They ain't counter-programming Wrestlemania bro. That don't make me anything negative, cut that shit out.
