Mariah May is in WWE

May has signed a multi-year contract with WWE, as one would expect after she debuted on NXT. WWE has been moving talent around in anticipation of the move, with a number of NXT talent moving up to the main roster. The specifics of the debut were kept very quiet as to not leak. At least on WWE's behalf, sources claimed that a very tight circle knew "officially" that May was on board ahead of time, but the plan for a while has been for her on NXT. We're told that word was relayed in gorilla to the talent just before the segment started.

Most in AEW expected her to head to WWE for the last number of months. She'd been making moves preparing for life after AEW over the last number of months, with most everyone thinking the landing point was WWE. The talent we spoke to said they expected her on NXT when
We've heard that AEW was interested in retaining her, but have not yet heard what the offers looked like. Those we spoke to in AEW didn't seem to think that she departed on bad terms.

May was removed from the AEW's roster page May 31, and her management said that she was technically still under contract. We've since learned that deal came up at the start of June with a couple of others, but made the rare move on their behalf of getting ahead of the departure. It's worth noting that Abadon is still on AEW's roster page despite her deal being up.

WWE NXT didn't mention her name. We've not heard if they're changing it, but there would be no issues with her using Mariah May as a name, as it's believed to be her shoot name. She's able to use the Mariah May name if both sides chose to, as she has for years. This is a different situation, but when Ricky Starks debuted, WWE was insistent that there could be issues with the name, even though he'd even technically used it on WWE TV before.​
 
Yall gotta realize that farming out to TNA and AAA isnt just a case of moving to another territory. It also is replacing the house show system.

Trick had a championship match last night, cool and now he gets another one on Friday. Complete with a new opponent and a new audience who isnt as familiar with his stuff. Thats the value, because once youre on the main roster that infrastructure isnt there anymore.

He's also getting to headline as a heel something he hasnt done before and something not available on nxt with Oba running around. By summer's end when he is back with Melo he will be better for these experiences, irregardless of who his opponent is.
 

As noted earlier today, there was talk of an incident outside the WWE Performance Center last night that led to an arrest.

PWInsider.com reached out to the Orange County Sheriff's office in Florida and received the following statement:

"On June 3, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., deputies made contact with Shawn Chan outside of the WWE Performance Cetner located at 5055 Forsyth Commerce Rd.

Chan had an outstanding warrant for burglary from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Chan was placed under arrest and booked into the Orange County Jail.

We have no details whatsoever about the Pasco County case, so you will need to reach out to that agency for more information."

The arrest report lists the time of arrest at 22:49 (10:49 PM Eastern) and noted the officer's body camera was active at the time of the arrest.

The arrest report makes no reference to any alleged stalking or a fight on WWE Performance Center property.

Chan is listed as 41 years old and originally from Hong Kong, but now residing in Florida.

As of this writing, WWE did not respond to a request for comment.

Chad remains incarcerated in Orange County Jail in Orlando, Florida as of this writing.

WWE sources, speaking on condition of anonymity this afternoon, confirmed to PWInsider.com that there was another arrest last night at the WWE NXT taping at the WWE Performance Center.

The story making the rounds that a suspected stalker for Liv Morgan was apprehended outside the Performance Center is 100% legitimate based on what we were told this afternoon.

The arrest was not made by local authorities we are told, which means a much larger agency is involved.

The suspect is currently being held.

This situation is completely separate from the earlier reported arrest.

Yeah Queen Aiminata has been a regular on AEW tv and ROH before that… TK doesn’t seem to know how to build women stars outside of Toni & Mercedes. Queen should at least be in the tv title / mid card mix. How she ended up not wrestling at all is beyond me

And don’t get me started Athena still locked up in ROH. None of these companies doing women & black performers much a service.

And you know their women’s division could rival wwes division if they were booked right because the talent is there for the most part

Fuccin shame that they're ego is preventing them from hiring qualified producers/head of creative writers who can easily turn that division around.

NXT is the only program that handles their women's division correctly
