Official Wrestling News Thread

There were a number of WWE releases last month, and we’ve gained some details on their future.

There were some within NXT who knew that Jakara Jackson was set to be released, as they constructed the creative to split she and Lash Legend. It still surprised many, as there was conversation months back about Lash Legend and Jakara making their way to the main roster, and even pitches for them to win the tag team titles.

Those we spoke to in MLW said that there will likely be interest from their side with a few of the women that got released.

Gigi Dolin previously appeared for AEW in a couple of spots, wrestled in TNA this year, and worked a number of tours for Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling in 2018. She also worked a couple of MLW dates in the past and has familiarity there.
Dakota Kai landed representation in the last couple of weeks.

The NXT talent had a 30-day wait period, which is now up main roster have 90. R-Truth and Carlito’s deals are up over the next month or so.

R-Truth’s time with TKO has quietly come to an end, with the company deciding not to renew his contract. According to internal sources reported by Tyson Kingsley of TBP, the decision came down to cost versus contribution. Despite being a beloved veteran and a reliable comic relief act, TKO reportedly saw little return on investment, especially after his heavily hyped match against John Cena failed to generate notable ticket sales or buzz. The match was meant to be a throwback spectacle, but when the numbers came in, it didn’t justify the push or the pay.

Behind the scenes, there’s a belief that R-Truth, while still entertaining, no longer brings significant value in terms of ratings, merchandise, or live gate appeal according to TKO staff. At 52, his age was also said to be a factor in the decision, with TKO looking to invest in younger talent with more upside. For fans, it’s a tough pill to swallow, but for the business side of wrestling, the message was loud and clear nostalgia can only carry you so far.

This decision has sparked backlash from both wrestlers and fans, many of whom have taken to social media to express their frustration and disappointment. Fellow superstars are reportedly upset behind the scenes, feeling that R-Truth’s loyalty, longevity, and ability to get over with any crowd deserved more respect.

Fans are calling it a cold move, especially considering his consistent entertainment value and backstage reputation as one of the most genuine people in the business. For many, it feels like TKO is prioritising numbers over heart, cutting loose a legend who gave everything without ever demanding the spotlight.

We’ll have more when more information comes to light.

Them not renewing Truth’s contract tells you just how much they value that man smh

Seen alot of people online saying this same exact thing but alas HHH too boring and safe of a booker to have done this. Also Truth is black.

Cena putting a end to his wwe run would of generated some crazy heat and had everybody talking, especially once they found out it was legit

Im hoping R truth tweets my bad guys my contract is getting renewed.. that’s my bad. And keeps showing up like he was never released.

Truth coming back.... The reaction online is too strong. People legit upset.. people are way too invested.

This gotta either be a work, or they gonna quietly give him another contact just to get a big pop...

Especially with this Cena angle.

Someone online made a really good point. If they really were letting Truth go, and they really wanted to put heat on Cena.... Their match could have been a career match
Loser leaves the company.... But considering they didn't do that.... Something gotta be going on in the background
