Is it a victory lap? If the standards were this low when wCw was around, wCw would still be around.
It is. Nitro was Bischoff's brainchild. AEw's detractors have specifically and frequently compared AEW to Bischoff era WCW so of course its a victory lap. They succeeded where he failed.

They were gracious to him, had him on TV one time and he turned around to continously throw dirt on them when he realised he was never getting a job.

There have been a number of exits from Anthem and TNA Wrestling today, PWInsider.com can confirm.

TNA President Carlos Silva issued a memo to Anthem staff today announcing the departure of eight from the company.

One of the most shocking departures was Ariel Shnerer, who was Executive Producer of TNA and effectively head of creative. Shnerer had been with Anthem, TNA and The Fight Network for many years. With his departure, Hunter "Delirious" Johnston will now head creative. Tommy Dreamer remains on the creative team as well.

*Tied for most shocking is the departure of TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim, who worked behind the scenes in Talent Relations and Producing and was a legitimate legend for the promotion. With her exit, Tommy Dreamer will now be heading the Talent Relations end of the company. Kim's run with the company dates back to 2005, initially as a performer and she was one of the women who forged the Knockouts division before her current role. She was very much loved and respected internally by the talents.

*Dreamer and Johnston will report directly to Silva.

*Rob Klingman, who was Chief Revenue Officer, has also departed. He was named CRO in June 2024. Prior to joining Anthem Sports Group, Kligman served as Vice President of Marketing Operations & Sales at G Fuel and had also worked at WWE as well as their Vice President of Global Digital & Integrated Sponsorship Sales.

*Michael Shewchenko will be exiting the Digital Department on 4/30, Silva announced. He started with the company in March 2023.

*It was also announced that Karen Clevett (Product Owner, worked on TNA+), Romy Glazer (Marketing) and Sebastian Dastrani (live events end) will be leaving the company.

*Rafael Morfi, who had been consulting and working to build the company's live business, was also announced as moving on. Morfi had been involved in the company's great success of late, including the big houses in El Paso.

Silva also announced the company will welcome a new Senior Vice President of Digital, David Clevinger next month. Clevinger has worked with The NFL, NBC Universal, UFC, The NBA and more.

A new Senior Vice President of Sales, Nicole Rachine, started with the company this month. She previously worked for World Team Tennis
Giving Delirious of all people the pen is fucking crazy. That nigga, along with Bully Ray effectively killed ROH in 2019.

Naw this is actually a big deal. Gail Kim was a key person in that company. If they did her...someone who's well respected in the locker room...then they truly don't give a shyt bout about anybody else on that roster.
Business is business and it's TNA. In all honestly who cares. Gail Kim being the ring leader for the women had its time but everything comes to an end eventually and I still don't see how this makes or breaks them in any slight fashion. Hell while she was there the past 2 years what holy moment did she have where she is not replaceable. Last I checked for the past year or 2 the women's division was back to a bunch of "ehhh" so it's not like she was cookin some shit up.

Dope wrestler in her day tho.

Brian Adams' son Royce Adams was on the Power & Glory Podcast with Paul Roma and Mario Mancini, and mentioned that Brian Adams was included in the recent Demolition WWE Legends deal.

Adams worked for WWF from 1990 through 1997 in various incarnations of his character, with the first being Demolition Crush. After a WCW run, he had a short stint in WWE as part of the Kronik tag team as well. Adams wrestled through 2003 and sadly passed away in 2007
Kona Crush was… well Tatanka was cooler that’s for damn sure.

In a shocking move, TNA fired Gail Kim, Ariel Shnerner and others.

Over a dozen TNA talent reached out to Fightful regarding the news of Gail Kim's firing, which was met with shock, disbelief, and anger. It was a unanimously unpopular move based on those we spoke to, with at least one talent said that it made the decision for them to not remain in the company when their deal was up. There were others that told Fightful they were scared for their jobs.

At least one person said they actually weren't surprised, because Gail Kim has been very outspoken creatively, and would sometimes butt heads with people in control. Another person indicated that, but said "that's what you want out of a person in her position. Someone who will advocate for a better show." We're told that Kim was very direct about her complaints when she felt like things could have been handled better or more professionally. Gail Kim was not involved in creative, and had been pushing heavily for the Knockouts division to do more after the departure of Scott D'Amore.
In all, the reaction to Gail Kim's firing ended up being more unanimously negative than the Scott D'Amore decision last year, even. As negative as talent were publicly, it was even worse privately.

Sources in AEW and WWE both said they expected Gail Kim to get interest across the wrestling world, and a few said they were going to immediately push for such. We're told that Gail Kim does plan to continue in wrestling.

One longtime name in TNA said that they believe Anthem is going for a major regime shift with the departures of Scott D'Amore, Gail Kim and Josh Mathews, names that had been around for ages.

They pointed to the revolving door of TNA Presidents and the differing visions between them. Those that we spoke to claim the decision was TNA President Carlos Silva's, and he told Gail Kim she was fired, but didn't provide a reason besides "changes." There was immediately heat in his direction for the decisions.

Tommy Dreamer was moved to a talent relations role, to help full the void Gail Kim left behind there. Hunter Johnston, aka Delirious will head creative. Tommy Dreamer will stay on the creative end as well.

Even outside of TNA, the firing of Gail Kim was met with a lot of shock and disbelief, with personalities from the industry trying to learn why it happened. A number of them told us they reached out to her directly and that Kim seemed "determined."

Gail Kim has no non compete and can appear for any wrestling company she wants or work wherever immediately.
