We have an update on the status of several talent in AEW, as requested by our Q&A readers

Hikaru Shida: Hikaru Shida has been dealing with a finger injury, and is back in Japan. She worked the Jericho Cruise, performing in a couple of matches, but has otherwise barely wrestled this year.

Kris Statlander: Despite sustaining an ACL injury that will still have her sidelined for months, Statlander has been backstage at several AEW shows in recent months. We know for sure she was present at the Lexington and Toronto events.

Miro: Thus far, there's been nothing new on Miro since our last update, although the two sides did meet around the time our report dropped. We're told that he's healthy and ready to go, but haven't heard an update on creative discussions between he and All Elite Wrestling. Miro has several years left on his contract after signing a four-year extension a year or so ago.

Leyla Hirsch: As of the last update we'd heard on Leyla Hirsch was that she was "slowly getting there," after having knee surgery in May. There was word that she'd resumed in-ring training recently.

Scorpio Sky: Scorpio Sky has been healthy for several months, and has been cleared. He was dealing with an injury last summer, but has long been cleared. He was at the IMPACT No Surrender PPV, but hasn't been at many AEW Dynamites of late.

There were some AEW talent surprised to not see him at the LA show in early January. Scorpio Sky also has several years left on his deal, as he said in late 2021 he signed a five-year extension.

Yo IMAGINE clowning someone for doing their job of keeping the performers safe. What's next?

"Look at this bush league promotion having their refs wear gloves when someone bleeds. Pfft. Nerds"

Rusev signed an extension, he got nobody to blame but himself

Miro woulda been back on TV but he didn't want to do business and take the 3 second tan for OC or Starks. Can't blame anyone but yourself if the promoter decides to not use you until he needs to or you wanna play ball *shrugs*

Quick question: Umm what long-term booking or great storyline has HHH come up with during his tenure as head of creative?

Bloodline was Vince, including the Sami Zayn addition
Cody was Vince
Bray's storyline is meh at the moment
Judgment Day stuff with Dom started with Vince

I think folks laughing cause Hobbs fucked the ladder up so bad that it needed 3.

He barely touched the shit and it folded like Scott’s 1ply toilet paper

i don’t know if refs always held the ladders or the production crew did a better job hiding it in the past

it’s necessary to keep talent from falling off but shit can look goofy sometimes
Hobbs was an idiot tho because he literally looked at ladder on the floor 5 ft from him on the outside and still said fuck ima take my big ass up this crooked ass ladder with zero support lol then had the nerve to stand on the very top of the ladder like he was about to drop a Hardy Swanton.

Nah I understand all that. Honestly I never really noticed refs or production crew keeping ladders steady but I wouldn’t doubt it. I’ve climbed some ladders that shit scary lol

But my thing is.... I just don’t know how we even got here. Nobody on here was talkin this

I gotta see this clip lol

Refs been holding ladders for the longest. If anything that was a production botch for not focusing solely on Hobbs in that moment

For those who have asked, we are told that WWE has not removed Sonya Deville from the road and she is still scheduled to make all of her appearances for the company.

As we noted a few days ago, there is no heat on her regarding her arrest in Atlantic City, NJ as the company was well aware she had applied and received a permit to carry a gun after the incident several years ago when a stalker (now commited to a mental facility) tracked down her home and broke in, requiring Deville and Mandy Rose to flee and call Florida police. The issue at hand is that Deville's permit did not carry over to New Jersey. The gun was locked in her car in the glove compartment and was not being carried around freely.

Deville is slated for a court appearance later this month.

She is also advertised to wrestle Charlotte Flair on 3/12 in Madison Square Garden.

The Atlantic City Police Department issued the following statement:

Woman Arrested for Possession of a Handgun

For Immediate Release: March 1, 2023

On February 19, 2023, patrol units were called to the Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa for a report of a valet employee discovering a handgun in a vehicle that had been valet parked. Responding officers arrived to find the owner of the vehicle, Daria Berenato, on scene and cooperating with security. Berenato admitted to being the owner of the handgun and provided responding officers a permit to carry from out of state that is not valid in New Jersey. Berenato was taken into custody without incident and released on a summons pending a future court date.

ARRESTED: Daria Berenato, 29, of [Removed by PWInsider for obvious reasons], FL.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon.

Berenato was issued a summons pending a future court date. The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Atlantic City Police Department Criminal Investigations Section at 609-347-5766. Information can also be sent via text to tip411 (847411). Begin the text with ACPD. All texts are anonymous.

The original plan for Wrestlemania 39 was for Brock Lesnar to face Bray Wyatt. As of the day of the Elimination Chamber, that was the plan but over the course of the day, those plans changed, likely due to Brock Lesnar's request. That afternoon, the finish for his match against Bobby Lashley was changed to the DQ. The original plan was for Lesnar to go over. Lashley was never booked to win that bout clean.

At one point before that, there had been discussion of Bray vs. Karrion Kross for Mania, but I don't believe that went too far into planning.

But, if you want someone to credit/blame for Lesnar vs. Omos, go tell Brock - and good luck with that.

Interesting to note regarding the Elimination Chamber, several sources indicate that Lesnar was telling some farewell and that he was "finishing up" backstage before that show, although in asking around we were later told that he was not "necessarily" meaning he was done that night or even at Wrestlemania.

Based on how things have gone, I'd suspect Lashley vs. Lesnar in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia this May at the King and Queen of the Ring as that show means a massive payday for Brock. Whether he takes a Brock break after that, we will see.
