The Cody Rhodes and Paul Heyman promo was universally praised by fans, and it was backstage in WWE, as well.

The Rhodes and Heyman promo was said to be a beneficiary of WWE's much looser scripting since Vince McMahon stepped down from the head of creative. We're told that some of it caught Paul Heyman by surprise -- at least according to those close to him. Those close to Rhodes also stated they weren't sure if it had ever been communicated to Heyman how important the ECW bookings were to the Rhodes family in general. Those familiar with the inner workings of said promo claimed that Paul Heyman wrote his part of the promo, while Cody Rhodes wrote his, and it ended up coming together perfectly.

Beyond that, we're told that the the talent involved were very happy with the promo. As would be expected, higher ups and officials were also thrilled with both the content, and the fan reception to what is their premium match at WrestleMania.
One higher up in WWE said "Cody Rhodes is a star, and Paul Heyman is a starmaker.

They were in a difficult position, and made something that seemed like a manufactured booking decision become a personal, WrestleMania main event if it ends up going that direction."

Nah. NWO had the stuff with Sting that had everyone going wild. You had the Macho Man and the DDP feud. The Hogan and Piper stuff. The NWO had way better stories the issue is they didn't stick the landing like the bloodline going to do.
The Hogan losing the belt to Sting storyline was grade A storytelling. In my opinion NWO should've started to break up at that point. After that the storytelling got worse and worse for the NWO

If the black and white would have kept some of the top guys the feud with the red and black could have gave the Nwo new life for a few more months. The black and white had only jobbers which I never understood, you would think Hogan would have more top guys on his side

nWo had no story past the first act.

They had cool feuds over the course of their run. But There's no plot to their story. All-time great angle (outsiders, Hogan turn, running roughshod over WCW) but no actual coherent story from beginning to end.

Hogan losing to Sting was butchered entirely LOL what were y’all watching?

Hogan got the 3 count on Sting when he wasn’t supposed to, Bret Hart randomly came through and restarted the match. It was fucking car wreck

That's just the match which was bad but the year long build to it was must see

The match being terrible fumbled the entire storyline imo. Had it been half decent that be one thing but they went out and shitted a dud. It was the beginning of the nosedive WCW took.

The NWO storyline was good for like the first act: the initial invasion and the Sting angle. After that it was awful.

The Bloodline story has been steady and it’s kept building and still has a chance to have an A1 finish

"They gave up on it," Meltzer said about Corbin's push and pairing with JBL. He continued, "Obviously, this wasn't the plan. The guy in charge, that's Paul (Levesque), felt it wasn't working and that was it. Where they go with Corbin, I don't know. It felt very much like a burial for Corbin...He's had so many gimmick changes. There's nothing wrong or right with him but in the pantheon of stars, he's just not at that top star level. I think they wanted him to be at that level and they gave him every chance to be at that level. He's just a guy. A tall guy but he's just a guy."

Glad Hunter see the same shit I see. Buddy just not a wrestling star on any level. He is just a bland guy who happens to wrestle. Even going back to his NXT days as the lone wolf he never came off like he would be anything more then a lower mid card heel. The part that always killed me was he would constantly be given mic and tv time when other talented mfs who had more personality was shelved or barely got tv time.
