Saw this post on Reddit regarding punks initial promo upon his return to wrasslin.

I realised shortly after his comeback promo what Punk specifically said was (paraphrasing probably) “I want to work with all that young talent in the back.”

Not I want to nurture them. Not I want to put them over. Not I wanna give them a rub. Just, I wanna wrestle them. And win.

His programme with Hook/Team Taz was canned. So was the feud with Kingston. He stalled Darby’s momentum just so he could do a Bret vs 1-2-3 Kid tribute. Punk needed the MJF feud more than MJF did, and he gladly stepped on him on his way to the top. His rambling pointless 20min promos took time away others could have used for their own development.

I know the Cody rub became a bit of a meme, but at least he actively and sincerely strived to put guys over at his own expense. That’s what being a locker room leader is about

I don't think the fans gaf. They're gettin entertained regardless.

All this doing nothin but making folks eager to see what's gonna happen on Dynamite.
