Hmmm

Looks like Austin made the call..

“I was having a beer one night after my Broken Skull Sessions interview with The Undertaker aired, and out of the blue, Chris Jericho reached out and said, ‘Man, that was a great interview,’” Austin says. “I sent him back a couple of those emojis, one of a beer mug and the other of an eagle, and then he called me right then and there.

“We got to talking. I’ve always respected the hell out of his career, and I’m glad they’re around—it gives the guys and girls in professional wrestling more places to work. I said, ‘I’d love to have you on the show.’ And he said he’d love to do it, so I checked with Vince about it.”

“I texted Vince and said we had this badass idea about Jericho coming on the show,” Austin says. “Vince goes, ‘It’s cool. Go ahead.’ But me and Vince don’t always do well with phones and texts and all that, so I texted one more time, ‘Are you sure it’s OK to have Chris Jericho on the show?’ Vince gave me the thumbs up, and Chris came out to do the show.”

I really don’t think Vince hates AEW as some people thinks he does. He’s too busy running WWE in his old age
Agreed and I think he is at the age where he is not worried about competition, he won't be here to stress it in the long run so I think he is focused on his plate.

Since this is Austin's call i hope they cover Jerichos AEW time.

He really dont. All those mfs are still friends too, they just working people on social media.

JR just said the other day that him and Vince are still close and text all the time but if you listened to his podcast you'd think they were at odds with eachother. At the end of the day he just trying to keep his listeners.

I doubt Vince knows Tony Khan like that but I remember reading something about Tony saying Vince congratulated im on AEW in the beginning too

people just dont bring shit like that up cause they'd rather pit the two promotions against eachother

i got a feeling they gonna edit the shit out of this to be honest. It seems like some shit they'd do but if im not mistaken Austin has mentioned AEW on there before briefly. Idk how they would get around not mentioning it with Jericho on tho. Thats probably why Austin asked Vince if he was sure it was ok

I don't think Jr. Talks to Vince like that I listen to his Podcast pretty much every week and he pretty much makes it known that him and vince don't talk like that anymore And it's been awhile since they spoken. JR seems to have a genuine hurt over something.

We need that competition, wrestling was GOAT when WWE and WCW was trying to destroy each other but now all the wrestlers are friends or dating others from the other promotion so there isn't any real rivalry.

Yeah Austin is a huge fan of AEW product so I can definitely see them digging into it

We really don’t. It was 20 years ago. I give no fucks about a rivalry. Just put on a good wrestling show and I’m good

Rivalry is not a bad thing. Never understood the backlash to it. Even something as simple as a friendly rivalry is good for business. Trying to top the others show always comes off as better TV then just comfortably going from A to Z on TV. NXT has had some of their better TV shows since AEW was on the other network. Why? Because they wanted to top them weekly.

NXT has had some super dope shows stacked up that made for some great nights to tune in as a fan with popcorn compared to before it might of been separated over 3 weeks and not as potent. Just like anything rivalries make anything better or want to improve quicker. Nothing wrong with that at all.

It'll never be like this again though, those were different times.

the internet ruins a lot of shit these days.. theres a lot of people who can't even enjoy what they watch cause they too busy trying to break everything little thing down or they won't suspend their belief for certain things.

they take it too serious when its not meant to be

this generation of wrestlers is also way different, i dont think we'll ever go back to them hiding friendships and relationships cause u know they gonna post pics and videos together on social media

Ive seen some people say NXT wasn't as good while trying to go up against AEW but I been enjoying the hell out of the shows since they moved to USA..

I hope they keep the same formula but just pull back on the specials & takeover events like Ro said.

as far as the them going up against eachother goes Idk.. that shit really wasn't making a big difference for either show and i think that they realized that..

they're basically sharing the same audience no matter what they do.

there may be a 100-200k increase while they on different nights but i think that the ratings still gonna be up and down for both shows from time to time

Its gonna be interesting to see what happens now that they're on separate nights tho cause like you said, they were pushing each other to deliver good shows.

I really looking forward to NXT being on Tuesdays. Hope it helps with the AEW thread on Wednesdays. Wouldn’t mind us talking and watch dynamite like we do with nxt every week

Problem is folks takes sides so it's hard and also I think people ain't trying spend money on ppvs so AEW doesn't get the attention on here. Makes sense since if I follow the show but never see the ppvs what's the point for the build. Easier for somebody to pay 5 bucks with WWE and get the ppv with their sub so easier to follow all the way.

Being a huge fan of both AEW and NXT, NXT show got way better as far as the head to head shows went, they were literally booking "super" shows like their were mini takeovers and shit. Everytime AEW had any major segments going NXT beefed it up and at times shot matches that could of been saved for Takeover which wasn't a bad thing for us tuning Into the NXT program because it got more potent as a weekly show.

Those NXT shows before USA(WWE Network) could easily be skipped and you could jump right into a Takeover and not miss a beat. Hopefully this keeps them wanting to push that much effort into the show on tuesday.
