Kinda spot on. Even when NXT was GREAT it had a formula that worked regardless.

Big indie guy/faction comes in, showcased and wins one of the straps and eventually loses it to the other new indie guy to rinse and repeat and go to the main show in a year's time with some dope feuds sprinkled in between.
It just worked because it was all about showcasing the big indie guys who would eventually get signed(Sammy, KO, Naka, Adam Cole, Samoa Joe, Alister Black and so on snd they delivered fire wrestling matches.
