Shit is like a cold war between WWE and AEW lol
It's a war the WWE can only win on the popularity / visibility front. AEW has way more money, better contracts and partnerships with other promotions. WWE contract tampering can't go down the way it used to.

WWE is more "organized" as a company. But AEW be giving you them fantasy bookin type of dream matches. One of things I like his how they got their talent competing in other promotions. Regardless how big or small.

Now if WWE was able to pull something like that off...man

Way more organised. That's what a headstart of this many years gets them. WWE can do it, they did it with the Evolve & the UK indies... until they decided to buy Evolve out and tell their contracted NXT UK talent they couldn't work the indies anymore whilst being with the WWE. There was also them raiding the indies during the NXT Black & Gold era.

They just don't play nice with other companies unless it involves buying them out and it's worked against them because other promotions are now apprehensive to work with them.

And not to mention…matches from week to week are better.

And they “planned on making Cody a martyr and looked to rehash the 2014 Bryan Danielson movement”

How does that make sense? Lol

So, the Rock came in as early as the beginning of January and was slotted for Mania but they had Cody win the rumble (and call his shot at Roman) but the plan was always “for Rock and Roman / Cody & Seth”

So where did that leave Punk initially?

Callin cap on this story
Smells like the higher ups piss the bed at Endeavor/TKO started to panic due to the Vince situation and Punk getting hurt in the Rumble match and The Rock got in the higher ups ears on the WWE & Endeavor side and forced his way into the WM main event.

If Rock came in at the beginning of January why have him cut the promo about being Head of the Table and not have him scheduled for the Royal Rumble and winning it? This would have been a much better way about doing business on the in-ring side of things. Then if Punk gets hurt, then maybe they can have an excuse for potentially doing Rhodes vs Rollins (even though Gunther should get that match imo).

Idk if this was a Nick Khan move or a power move by the Rock to convince both heads of WWE/Endeavor to change shit up at the last minute the outrage from fans could be worse than the WM 30 backlash. They still got 2 months to switch course and not completely shit the bed on WM 40.

It makes no sense. I think the crazy ass decision was made was solely on $$$ alone from the corporate end of things. Somebody on the WWE side should have really spoke up though... Especially after the RR was finished.

The current plan is for Andrade to be a babyface on the Monday Night Raw brand, PWInsiderElite.com has confirmed.

Tiffany Stratton is done with NXT and will be full-time on Smackdown going forward, WWE sources have also confirmed. She will remain a heel.

Jade Cargill has not been officially assigned to a main roster brand as of this writing. The original plan many months ago was Raw but that could have always changed.
