i dont think he scared of AEW competition wise but the fact that his talent are starting to speak out about being unhappy/request releases is whats gonna bring about change. He'll be forced to go in his pockets for some and he'll have to push others while finally letting go of the ones who he knows has no future in the company.

Like 2 weeks ago on NXT Kassius Ohno cut a promo basically saying he was quitting cause hes underappreciated then Keith Lee came out and leveled him. So it could be there way of writing him out of shit
