What do you expect tho? They were marketing it as the biggest show ever and the promo was "We're gonna break the record" which I thought was genius marketing. Once it was said that it broke the Mania record they ran with it extra hard. And I aint mad at it cause I woulda done the same. It was seen as a major accomplishment.

Suddenly we get these new numbers and what are we supposed to do with this information other than call it what it is. 73K is still massively impressive especially for a card that on paper wasnt really exciting. I just think that TK is gonna do what Vince does and still market it as 82K

Haters have literally doubted these dudes EVERY step of the way. And in the end they’ve said to the doubters

Fwiw, the pitch tickets and lower area seats were completely full. It was the upper seats that were kinda empty. Won't be surprised if resellers weren't making anything off those at all.
 
Additionally, they were very specific about the wording when it comes to that show. They always said "paid attendance" and any ticket sold will always count towards it. Even when Nigel announced the figures it was the same thing. They didn't wanna get caught in a WWE level lie lmao.

Wrestlemania 3 had more. Meltzer underreported the attendance figures and people have ran with it.

So they were celebrating something that was already outdone by an event from nearly 40 years ago.
