i recall raw and smackdown wrestlers jumping to and from brands/being traded left and right literally months into the first brand split…21 years ago

i wouldn’t mind AJ winning the WHC if smackdown gets something in return for him going to raw
Why do y’all just accept dumbness? That’s like me being on the lakers and playing for the East in the all star game. It was dumb then, and it’s dumb now. Want your programming to make sense. Ninjas tell us wrestlers are exclusive to this and that show but they appearing on both shows. Tf is the point of the brand split if you not gonna keep the rosters split? That defeats the whole purpose

unfortunately all them bums are coming with him
Still say Rollins got it, giving Cody 3 Ws probably makes the decision easier.. plus they can run Rollins vs Cody down the line with Rollins defending and retaining the strap and finally getting his big win over Cody when it mattered the most.

Warner Bros. Discovery will be holding their upfront presentation today at 10 AM EST from The Theater in Madison Square Garden in NYC.

Today's upfront is expected to feature the official announcement for the debuting AEW Collision series, slated to bow on TNT on Saturday 6/17.

There has been speculation that a larger media rights deal between the two parties will also be revealed today, although there's been no official confirmation on that - no AEW or WBD sources, even off the record, would commit to that announcement being a likelyhood today.

There are some major changes in store for All Elite Wrestling.

AEW Collision is set to be announced imminently, likely in conjunction with the WBD Upfronts. We haven’t heard that Dynamite has also been extended, but we did note recently that Collision will see a big cash infusion for AEW. But that isn’t all that‘s changing.

As of last week, it was believed that there would be a soft roster split for AEW Dynamite and Collision. This would allow talent that didn’t get along to work shows when necessary without the likelihood of conflict that we saw a lot of backstage in AEW in 2022. However, instead, we’re told that talent are expecting a hard brand split, with the exception of many AEW Champions. We’ve been told that there will be additional exceptions here and there. We have not learned how exactly the split will be determined, if there will be a draft, or how that will work out. However, the working plan as of this week is a firm brand split, with some rare exceptions.

Those we’ve spoken to said that bringing back several previously absent talent was planned out, and they were told it was strategic timing to go along with the new show. In addition to talent that naturally needs more television time, several returning talent look to benefit from this move.

The working plan is to film AEW Rampage with Dynamite tapings, and ROH with Collision tapings. Those that we’ve spoken to say that there looks like some WCW Nitro influence to early graphics tied to Collision.

They don't want conflict backstage while having a show that shows all the conflict backstage

The big benefit for another 2 hour show is more talent can be featured. Rampage definitely isn’t that show so good for AEW. Hope it all works out

Nobody watching the Friday night show so why think a show on Saturday would be any different

There’s this thing called DVR where you can record your favorite shows and movies and watch them whenever you want.

Enough of the sarcasm. Ratings don’t matter anymore and remember when there was wrestling on Saturday nights on the superstation? Plus someone is paying them MORE money for that slot. Why not?

Lol at them going from a soft brand split to just a brand split

Let’s see how this goes. It sounds like the original way the WWE did their brand splits with the champs appearing on both shows

Notably absent from the artwork and all mentions in the press release is former AEW Champion CM Punk, who had been long expected to be announced as returning at the first-ever Collision taping in Chicago, IL at the United Center. One would think that Punk not being center stage as part of the announcement means there's a hurdle the two sides have yet to cross. The belief among AEW sources as late as over the weekend was that Punk was back "in" and would be one of the main forces in front of and behind the scenes for the new series. Based on the announcement today, It appears that (at least as of this moment) that is not the case. More as we confirm it.

Perhaps even more interesting is that there was no media rights renewal announcement today. PWInsider.com is told by a source at Warner Bros. Discovery that there was never, ever a plan for either side to announce a new deal between AEW and WBD. There had been rampant speculation online about a new deal between the two sides being worth as high as $1.5 Billion, but beyond that speculation, there had never been any inkling from either AEW or WBD that a new rights agreement had been locked in, much less was going to be officially announced today. Once again, like Saudi Arabia buying WWE, another story with no basis in fact ran amuck. We are told there is no announcement expected today on that front.
