While this may not be distinguishable to the average viewers this year, PWInsider.com has been told by numerous sources that WWE is very much in a "streamlining" mode when it comes to Wrestlemania 39, seeking to make the show as profitable as possible when it comes to the margins in the financial ledgers. They are cutting back on the amount of ancillary staff being brought in for the weekend (some who will work remotely from Stamford) and we are told that some of the international announcers will be calling the shows from home as opposed as to traveling in to do so in person and other small tweaks have been made. Some other events that were discussed as being added to Mania week also won't be going forward, My feeling is they want to show prospective bidders on the company the sleekest, strongest WWE they can by cutting away at some of the expenditures they normally would have done in the past.
One area that will NOT change is the company's community outreach events on Mania week. WWE staffers will have boots on the ground for those that entire week. Nothing has changed in regard to that department.

Another issue the company is continuing to deal with are fans showing up to meet talents at airports and hotels, looking to get them to sign lots of toys and other items that many suspect are just being re-sold online. There was an incident a while back with Rey Mysterio where Rey, who has one of the best, most golden reputations possible of anyone dealing with fans, turned down signing items to "help you guys make money" as the fans in question (as you can see in the link above) had dozens of items including Funko Pop Dolls and trading cards that they was trying to get Mysterio to sign at all the same time at 5 AM.
When that footage came out online, it upset a lot of talents because it was released in an attempt to paint Rey (who was correct) in a bad light and it then sparked a larger conversation within the company about other incidents at airports and hotels, specifically about female stars getting stopped and at times, being followed by fans after they got into their cars. We are told the company is aware of this and understandably unhappy. While nothing official has been stated to talents, some have started to tell fans waiting that they have been advised to no longer sign toys or trading cards. We are told by a few talents that if it's one fan looking for a selfie or a signed 8x10, they normally don't mind, but over the last year since the company has returned to touring, they are more likely to be besieged by large groups of fans waiting at baggage claim areas or hotel lobbies, all trying to get multiple items signed - and that the Rey situation just proves a line has to be drawn in the sand before there's a more potentially dangerous incident.
PWInsider.com is also told that talents being booked as extras for WWE TV events are now being asked not to promote themselves as being there on social media. It had become pretty normal to see talents posting selfies of themselves in front of WWE production sets in the days after Raw and Smackdown online of late, but we are told that has been quietly asked to stop. No word as to why, but personally, I can see why WWE wouldn't want random independent talents promoting themselves as if they were "with" the company when they are booked for one night to work as a background extra, security guard, etc.

The first employees moving into the new WWE HQ will begin the process next month. They had intended to start this month but we are told that is not still happening. They are looking at April to begin the process, most likely after Wrestlemania week has completed.
