This would be a good time for prominent black athletes from all sports get together and have a conference on what their demands are just the summit they had back in the day with Jim Brown, Kareem and Ali

I just want to see them make some demands and im all for it.
Basketball going away again will suck. Shits been giving me life in this pandemic.
With that said though, if the players association releases a statement with concrete demands, on some we wont play until this law is passed in congress type shit, id be all for it.
Im gonna support them whatever they do. They can play tomorrow and ill support that too.
The only thing I dont want to see is a statement like "we wont play until we see justice." Thats too vague.
Im just hoping too see a realistic demand or two from the players that they can then put their resources behind

This is why a protest with no plan is stupid. You can play still have a plan but a huge risk with a great reward would be to protest and have a concrete plan and demands that make sense

The economic impact of NBA players is huge though.
Think about all the people at the arenas not working. All the business bars would lose cause there are no games to go to the bar and watch. All the way down to gas stations with 20k people driving to games 82 times a years.
Then you add the money cable tv loses which effects their profits and the number of people they employ. Less people listening to sports radio and them losing money cause theres no game. The list goes on.
But mostly, you got 30 billionaires who donate a ton of money to campaigns. Force these owners to back the candidates willing to pass the law they want.
Hopefully this trickles down to the NFL too.
No NBA and NFL being played would have a bigger impact on the economy than we give it credit for

White people don’t care nearly as much about the nba as they do about football.
While I’m proud of what the players are doing today it would have a much bigger impact if this happened in football. A pro of major college team boycotting games would get shit done pretty quick imo.
