Official 2019-2020 NBA Thread

Gilbert averaged 25 points per game shooting 42% from the field, 36% from three, 80 from the line, a little under 6 assist with almost 4 turnovers per game while in Washington. Gilbert only had 2 seasons where he shot over 44 % from the field during that stretch which shows he shot alot to get his points and turned the ball over alot. Those were his prime years

Those numbers are overblown and skewed by Gilbert's 3pa they shot the same percentages on 2pt field goals.

Nobody mentioning steals either.

I'll try it this way, peak Wade was the best season of his career(I know you know what year it is). While Prime Wade covers about 8 seasons.

The question isn't about their prime years though. It's at their peak. Meaning, at their very best, who was better? Period.

Arenas at his very best or Roy at his very best?

If I had to take the player based off of their one best season then I guess Gilbert's 05-06 season is the one. He shot well, scored alot but still turned the ball over a ton compared to how many assist he averaged.

Overall and prime years I'm taking Brandon Roy though. I guess it comes down to preference but, I prefer the player who historically is more efficient and versatile

You and I both know steals don't equate to defense. I know you watch alot of basketball and you know I do also, don't use steals as defense. Lol

And shooting alot of bad shots fall under the efficiency category. Lol

No. Prime years include multiple seasons. Do you believe players are at their peak for the entirety of their prime?
lol well a player’s prime is their peak

now if you wanna delve deeper and say the peak of their prime you can but I think usually peak and prime is looked at as the same thing

it’s semantics really but comparing a player in their 5th and 6th season to a player’s 3rd sucks for Roy

Well yeah I guess when you put it like that but I could argue that Wade’s peak was both years after the olympics

maybe I’m being difficult lol

damn Wade was giving y’all 27 In his 3rd year
