You're supposed to donate to men being afflicted with cancer or another disease. That part always gets left out.

I see how you could see that. There's always bandwagoners with less than altruistic intentions trying to get a come up. I think there are levels to it, too, like it depends on the nature of whatever subject at hand is. Like if you're a celeb and all you do is change your profile pic to a black square to stand with BLM and protest police brutality, "gee thanks..." If it's to raise awareness for a disease not many people heard about, though, a simply retweet or video can go a long way, I think.
