You know what’s really fucked up too.

I remember the city had to turn red lights off and make them blinking yellow so you didn’t have to stop because our own people was just robbing us.

We have to do a lot better. We're behind in the game while others is playing the game correct. We HAVE to own property and I mean now fuck a nice car get that land or bldg and let it work for you.

If you can't afford nothing in the city go outside of the city and buy the property for the cheap put a duplex on it and get money. Build generational wealth. Stop listening to these bizarro coons who tell you owning something is a bad thing

First is what Elzo mentioned. Losing properties owned by folks parents and grandparents all because they didn't know about paying property taxes or refusing to pay the property taxes.

Also not valuing where we live at. So many people who lived and grew up DC back in the day thought that moving into PG county with their "good" gov't job was a come up and showing other black people who still live in the city that they got money now . I've heard many of them speak on how they feel fucked up seeing what the house they grew up in is now selling for.

Also some just selling the house for a quick check but completely undervaluing the house. They didn't and don't care because their grandparents or parents bought the house and paid off the mortgage. So they feel like any couple thousand they see is a finesse move not even realizing they one who really got finessed in the long run.

It's more but those are some of the biggest I see very often.

We play a part in our own displacement from gentrification but rarely do we speak on it among ourselves. So its like we having a conversation with our people but lying to our people at the same time because we not speaking on the whole truth of the situation we putting ourselves in.

It's not all our fault at all but we have to acknowledge the part we playing in it to stop it and move forward.

This shit is happening is small ass Mobile, Al

pushing all the poor blacks out west and bringing the white folks back to the city.

There is a community in Mobile called Maysville…shit is getting gentrified before my eyes…the death blow was the University Of South Alabama getting am on campus stadium. There is a stadium (Ladd-Peebles) in the heart of maysville that was used by the school as well as the Senior Bowl and another minor bowl game and local high schools…

With South’s new stadium…the college games, the senior bowl and the other bowl game is gone.

City just set aside money to build stadiums for high schools that used Ladd as home field.

Once Ladd goes its over. In addition to them trying to open the Brookley Field airport back up…which is in Maysville as well.
 
@BRIAN B. I was passing through Avondale earlier today, and seen a group of white dudes outside at the Avondale court, playing basketball like it was nothing. Dawg, as long as I've been a born and raised eastside nigga that's from Avondale. I never seen that before. First thing I thought of was gentrification smh

beatties ford aint the worst .. what it look like for travelers to get off exit 41 and see panhandlers amd trannies walking the strip....

people laugh at me when I say they gotta grand plan for sugar creek..that shit will not be the same in 5 years guaranteed..they change that game over if you aint got it like that..
