Naw. Been waiting for a new Freddy. Hope they dont do another reboot of the first movie. Just do a new story.

Also waiting for a new Hellraiser that continues from the last movie.
Horror fans gotta eat too.
they rebooted the shit in 2010 and did a poor job then!

are the same people(executives) involved in this one? They did, but they didn't try to be creative. They just attempted to recycle what was already done with less creativity. I feel like there's talent out there that could do a good job if given the chance.
Wes Cravens estate owns the rights currently. It reverted back to them after New Line couldnt get another move out of development hell. Paramount purchased the rights to that screenplay by the Craven estate. They are looking for producers and such now.are the same people(executives) involved in this one?

and no one has come up with an original story since then so of course.. out of necessity we gotta go back to the well of shit thats already been done beforeThat was over 10 years ago.
The hell is "Paramount Primal"? Just what they're calling their horror films banner?
Im okay with them redoing this. They might as well, lmao. We just got done with a trilogy for Halloween, that were technically "sequels" i guess. But also remakes at the same time, since they were only sequels to the very first movie and everything else after that apparently never happened.
We got a new Texas Chainsaw on the way from Curry Barker the Director of Obsession.
We got new Friday the 13th prequel show coming out and im pretty sure theres a new movie featuring JAson on the way.
Another Exorcist is on the way. Basically all those huge horror franchises are being remade. I expected a new freddy to happen.
Nightmare is the one franchise that should be actually scary as fuck though. No slapstick 80s cheese wisecracking humor. Just give us straight up horror. Maybe freddy can have ONE line for the audience to chuckle at, but i want to feel afraid of him for the rest of the film.
With the remake they did somewhat recently, i want to say it was from 2010 or something. I loved the idea they had for Freddy as far as making him this evil predator that the neighborhood banded together and eliminated on their own and he comes back to haunt them, but being a Michael Bay movie it was executed poorly. Put this franchise in the hands of the right people and this can be just as effective to audiences as it was back in the 80s

What i meant is i liked them somewhat fleshing out his backstory more so we saw what turned him into Freddy. I know the original had a brief bit about it showing Freddy alive and it hinted he was a pedo but didnt outright say he did.At the bolded, are you saying the reboot was the first to show Freddy as a predator, Who the neighbor banded together to kill? Or are you saying you liked the idea of Freddy in general?
Oh, gotcha. They fleshed out his back story in Freddy's dead, the 6th film. That one was my second favorite out of the series. What i meant is i liked them somewhat fleshing out his backstory more so we saw what turned him into Freddy. The remake confirmed he was a accused as a pedo and gave a little more detail.
Essentially i just mean I hope they really give a backstory to Freddy and why he haunts this town and its kids. The way I would do it is put focus on Freddy as human for a chunk of the movie then the second half and future releases can be him as glove wielding Freddy. Sometimes I just be saying shit
Oh damn I cant remember that shit. I know i've watched every single entry, but most of them were as a kid. I remember it getting way jokey as the franchise went on though. Only ones ive watched multiple times were 1-3 and Freddy vs Jason.Oh, gotcha. They fleshed out his back story in Freddy's dead, the 6th film. That one was my second favorite out of the series.
I did like how they detailed his story in the reboot.
