I'm not saying every damn Nelly single or song or 50 song or or Em song is them doing the hook singing the hook them self. There is execeptions here and there but MAJORITY wise they sing the hooks them self

Nelly made a Country album for God sake so he's a song-writer that is skilled. @5th Letter knows this. He will have his semantics like most here do but everybody knows song-writing is the most important aspect outside boards like this

For u to not even be real to your self and admit Nelly is a skilled song-writer is lame

I'm not a fan of Nas music it has no appeal to me but i always acknowledge and give him credit for being an incredible technical lyricist/MC 2nd best ever technical lyricist/MC

I'm even honest enough to admit Nas, Wu-Tang, Jay-Z Canibus, Big-Pun, Lord Jamar etc lyrics are too complex for me

You’re missing the point. Your logic is that Nelly is a skilled song writer that sings and blah blah blah, but if I mention certain rappers that do the same thing you move the goalposts. Secondly it ain’t about song writing since music is subjective to begin with anyway.

So Nelly isn't skilled in your opinion, people are looking at his past music from a romantic perspective just because today (according to u) mainstream hip-hop is so wack
