What ya think the Pelicans should do with that #4 pick?
i've been mulling over this for the last week
on one hand, i want to keep the pick and go all in on a youth movement
oto, i want to trade it to whoever is gonna give up the most to have it
What ya think the Pelicans should do with that #4 pick?
Yea but if you were looking for a deal, are you looking for an established young "vet"? (Cus guys like Bradley Beal are gonna cost more than just the 4th pick) or are you looking for more assets?
I'd probably take that Hawks offer if they giving up 8 and 10 and hope either Reddish or Hayes falls to me.
i think a young vet is appealing, but it depends on the FO timetable to build a winner and sustain success during Zion's first contract
it would also depend on if that young vet is down with the idea that there might be some struggling early on
while not young, one dude im seeing on my TL being mentioned as a pickup for the Pels is Kevin Love. Can stretch the floor, still rebounds at a good clip and has a contract that will be coming off the books in 3 years which would coincide with the end of Zion's first deal.
I think there are still some average to good and possibly great players towards the middle to late first round. If you are looking for depth and possibly some 6th man help, i think you can find some gems, so taking the ATL package would only be ideal if the Pels had an idea of who they actually wanted that late in the draft
i like what I saw from sekouIf im the pelicans I trade #4 for the #8 and #10 picks and draft sekou and hayes
this dude might not move the need that much, but i REALLY liked what I saw from Christian Woods late in the seasonESPN talking like the FO is tryna compete for a playoff spot this season! That backcourt is gonna be crazy, especially defensively with Lonzo the GOAT and Jrue. I do think Kevin Love would be crazy with Zion, as long as Zion is able to protect the rim in the NBA (I'm not 100% sure about that)...
In the draft there's always at least 1 undervalued guy in the teens that turns out to be a star (or better) so they honestly have just as much a chance of landing an allstar at 4 as they do at 8 and 10..like Kevin Porter Jr is probably still gonna be on the board and hes got just as much upside as anyone imo
The Pelicans should either trade the 4th pick for a player or keep it.
Dont trade the pick for more picks. Especially not in the same draft.
Having too many kids on the roster is a bad look even with the few vets they have.
I think keeping the pick would be the smart and logical thing to do imo but if you can get a player that fits the time line and address a specific need then I would do it(Myles Turner, Jaylen Brown maybe for example)
i like what I saw from sekou
you think he could have the same kinda impact as Luka?
I meant to put 2-3 years down the line when I asked initially but you answered it anywayOut the gate? Fuck no
Sekou 2 maybe 3 years away
Wait so who's everybody sleeper in the draft? I'm sure ya spoke about it already but still.
