Okc & russ want to get this done asap.Miami don’t want to give up 2 of their youngsters cuz they just traded Richardson & don’t have picks in ‘21 and ‘23(lottery protected so most likely no pick) and acquiring russ on a super max + Jimmy’s max will limit future flexibility

So there’s s stalemate to see who blinks 1st.okc can hold on to russ til after dec 15th when fa’s signed this summer will be eligible to be traded but if he gets injured his value plummets.

Now all of a sudden houston is working on a 3 way is leaked but that’s really leverage to get Miami to blink. There’s not a market for Russ like that cuz of his contract

Rockets don’t have expirings besides Gordon and non guaranteed cats they need a 3 way to make it happen

Miami just acquired jimmy who will be 30 in September, they don’t have time to wait til summer ‘21 he’ll be almost 32 then and it shows jimmy you serious about winning(even tho they won’t win anything besides a playoff series or 2 imo)

If this was before June 30th okc would of had more options but all the teams used up their cap space so the market is mad limited right now
 
Jimmy was signed with the assumption pat would get him another guy soon

I think 2020 is a tad bit too long but midseason is fine. Jimmy not gonna care because he gonna be soaking up all this culture and enjoying teammates that actually like to work hard

Plus weekly visits from his idol Dwyane?

He's good but yeah no need to get yourself stuck with no flexibility that can't win like the rockets just to appease jimmy in his first month
