"These are the opening lyrics to DOOM’s 2012 collaborative track “Banished” with Jneiro Jarel, released months before what would apparently be the masked rapper’s final attempt to enter the United States. Born in the United Kingdom, the rapper otherwise known as Daniel Dumile, or MF DOOM, was denied entry to America for the first time in 2010 upon returning from an international tour, and by 2012, he seemed to have accepted the reality of life abroad. In an interview with Q magazine that year, he said it outright: “I’m done with the United States, it’s no big deal.”"

"The USCIS documents show that Dumile knew he had to resolve his immigration status in 2004 and took meaningful steps to do so. His application for permanent residency under the registry provisions was possibly denied because he either couldn’t or didn’t prove that he was living in the U.S. prior to 1972—even though records show he arrived in the country prior to 1972."

No cause of death was provided, only that Dumile had "transitioned" on October 31.

However, the legendary rapped died on October 31, according to his wife Jasmine's Instagram post which was also confirmed by his record label.

"Thank you for all the things you have shown, taught and given to me, our children and our family," Jasmine wrote.

"Thank you for teaching me how to forgive beings and give another chance, not to be so quick to judge and write off. Thank you for showing how not to be afraid to love and be the best person I could ever be."

MF Doom's wife went on to say: "My world will never be the same without you. Words will never express what you and Malachi mean to me, I love both and adore you always."

"May THE ALL continue to bless you, our family and the planet."

Dumile is survived by his wife Jasmine and two kids.

One of their sons, King Malachi Ezekiel Dumile, was born on 22 February 2003, although he tragically passed away in 2017 at age 14.
