Disney+ Marvel's Black Panther

Erik Killmonger's story is a sad one, even more so now that it has been revealed what happened to his mother.

On the commentary track for the Black Panther Blu-ray, director Ryan Coogler talks about what happened to the off-screen character.

Before the events of Black Panther, N'Jobu (Sterling K. Brown), the brother of the king of Wakanda, falls in love with a woman in Oakland and they have a child, who grows up to be Erik "Killmonger" Stevens (Michael B. Jordan). It is through his love for Erik's mother that N'Jobu changes his mind about the world outside of Wakanda, and decides he must help its people.

At the start of Black Panther, the audience sees N'Jobu and a young version of Forest Whitaker's character, Zuri (Denzel Whitaker in the flashbacks), formulating a plan in an Oakland apartment.

"The idea was when you see those guys talking over the paperwork in the beginning of the film, they're talking about a way to break her out of jail," Coogler explains. "The idea was they never got her out, and she passed away in prison, so Killmonger didn't come up with a mom either."

Shits wild, black panther is STILL in theaters making money and it's supposed to be released on blu ray soon if it hasn't released already. Awesome how successful that movie has been. Well deserved. Can't wait to buy it.

I pre ordered but found out the digital dropped yesterday so I copped. My 3 year old came in and sat down to watch again. And he hardly ever sits still. Love this movie.

Yeah i saw on FB yesterday an ad for the digital copy so thought physical may have dropped already. Physical must be ready to drop within a week or 2 though, cant wait to see.

I have a pretty decent dvd/Blu Ray collection at home but i never hardly ever watch any of the additional stuff like behind the scenes, deleted scenes, or whatever else the movie includes. I started doing that with the marvel movies i own though and the shits pretty cool. Whole lot of content to see and its fun to see what all they had to do to make certain scenes. Cant wait to see that stuff for BP.

Nah I disagree too because for one, he mentioned Ghana like that was the only country black people were enslaved from. And while countries like Haiti and Jamaica kicked the Europeans out, blacks in America stayed enslaved until the government "freed" them.

Nanotechnology isn't exclusive and that's the Bleeding Edge armor that's been around for years. Shuri and her science department definitely get credit for discovering how to utilize nano first though.
