Making Your Good Deeds Public

In your opinion, is anything wrong with people making their good deeds public? In the Slim Thug thread it was brought up that some people don't want their good deeds made public, my question is, does that make them any better than someone who makes their good deeds public?

For example if both Kendrick and J Cole gave 100 homeless people homes, but only J.Cole made an announcement about it, is he any worse or better than Kendrick?

And before this is brought up, lets say both of their deeds were genuine.

Damn, you work fast. Lol

Yeah...I don’t even care if tha good deeds were mentioned or even done out of genuine caring...as long as they get done that’s all that matters to me...but on tha flip side not too much is worse than making money or benefiting off of tha notion you’re going to help and never do...shits whack af and 1 of my biggest issues wit’ tha whole “religious business”...

If you wanna let people know what you’re doing to give back go ahead.

The problem is some people do the shit for internet reps. Like when a group of kids get together to buy one kid a pair of shoes cause he comes to school busted. Or giving something to the homeless and recording it. Smaller scale stuff like that should be left right where it is.

There’s 2 sides to this. There the “I gave outta the kindness of my heart and IDGAF who knows about it.” Then there’s “I’m letting people know who I gave to because I’m trying to bring awareness to a certain issue and drive in more donations.”

No wrong in either one.

Im just weary of something being public when it does not have to be. Like say he starting a business in the community and gecwants folks to know that make sense to be public.

But people dont need to know you donated to a hospital or visited some kids with diseases. Or recording giving food to homeless

i think you can tell when things are recorded who is bringing awareness and whos doing it for clout.

its in the wording and actions.
and sometimes it can be a persons own perspective that can skew something

That's my thing tho. If one of the posters on here donated money to a hospital, why can't he/she let others know? Why is that frowned upon?

If they want to...cool. If not...cool.

Some folks don't like the attention, and just wanna be low key wit their good deeds.

Others want the world to know. Maybe hoping it'll inspire others to do the same.

Either option is good

I don't mind people sharing their good deeds because It might inspire others to get out here and do something positive for somebody. Just think.. its much easier to get noticed for doing dumb shit nowadays so just the fact that somebody does something positive and shares it is pretty big

Looked at like why bring news too it. I think in the older days it would be looked atbas bragging but too alot of us its awareness like let me dinate so yall know this place needs help

Good question.

Imo if it's about bringing awareness to a cause, an issue or a movement it's all good. It's good to see people demonstrating and being living examples out here.

But if it's about telling the world how great you are, maybe someone else should do that.

If your heart is pure that's all that matters there are some people that give to obscure their fuckery.

I think announcing for the sake of challenging others with means to do the same is cool.
