Lupe Fiasco speaks on beef with Kendrick Lamar

i remember when i really really really started messing with Battlerap on this site

I cant remember what it was but i asked a question and i believe it was @Goldie ?? that asked me something along the lines of "do you know how battlerap works"...it was him or Sage wonder or one of the more hardcore battlerap dudes that be in there.

I asked him to school me and he taught me something that day. I personally didnt think he was being condescending, but then again, i cant help how people perceive things. All i can do is apologize if someone felt offended by what I said as it wasn't my intention.

The point is, you dont have to be a elite rapper to make a great album. Kendrick is not a elite all time rapper. None of the current crop are. Most are B level at best. Lupe and Wayne are prolly the last elite rappers.

I think Lupe is just bitter his name didn't get dropped in that Control verse. Lupe is an exceptional rapper, it's obvious he's an expert at his craft, but I also don't really enjoy his music all that much. The majority of the time I stumble on his music, I'm like -

The last song I really liked was WAV files, it wasn't an enjoyable song for obvious reasons, but it was educational as hell. I need to listen to the rest of Drogas Wave...some day, lol. I also didn't know he had any kind of beef with Kendrick. I feel like this is one of those things that his fans care more about than he does, tbh.

He clearly said he gave camelface songs for the black album. He back peddling to keep his relationship with the camel.

Naaah broski lol....you said Lupe was writing for Jay on the Black album...not “giving him tracks”...which to me means he had tha beats and maybe even tha concept for a track 1st wit’ a producer and “conceded” to Jay who prolly said “Nah...that’s mine now!!” which we all know Jay has and will do...but bosses tend to make boss moves

Stop it. Camelface ain't bully nothing he did what Aubrey Graham does now with reference tracks camel aint a dope rapper so clearly Lupe wrote his shit but the contract for a ghostwriter is supposed to be anonymous.

this sums it all up

i'll give an example ya'll gone hate, but we on the internet, so you cant do shit....

Beyonce is the superior artist to say Rhianna, but Rhi's music is more listenable....I got her in playlists....aint no Bey in my phone and Im still able to regard and recognize her as the better artist

and I get why people dont jam to lupe....shit, i gotta be in a mood for it

Lupe is like Joe Budden to me. Both are decent MCs but way overrated by their fans.

And I agree that Kendrick wouldn't be at the pinnacle of the game in the 90s, but he would have stood out. Anyone saying otherwise is just hating. Hell part of the reason Kendrick is so popular is because he's one of the few artists that gets love from this era's hip hop fans and from fans of previous eras.

I don't get the argument about if Kendrick could compete in the early 90's. He would have been a top artist. Maybe not a mega star because Pac and snoop had that locked for the West. But he would have made noise. Kendrick speaks on multiple topics, has bars and flow. I don't know how you could compare a rapper from the 80's to rappers now. Flows, production, styles, culture, and the world changed multiple times over. It actually wouldn't be fair to some of the 80's rappers. The complaint I here from people who don't rock with Kendrick is because they don't like his voice. I can rock with that reason.
