Lupe was on a major, with Jayz features, kanye backing him, etc and still never went platinum in his life. The nigga doesn't sell with or without a machine.

Good try tho.
Thought u were talking bout their latest projects Jay don’t back nobody he just dickrides ask Cole....neither did Kanye ....his most anticipated album was bootleg like a month before release....also since when does sales matter? Vanilla Ice damn near went diamond

Ur mans brought up numbers. But let's not pretend like numbers aren't significant.

With that said, yall arguments contradict each other. Yall say lupe would be as big as kendrick, cole, etc if he had a machine, but when he did , he was never even close. Then yall blame the machine for forcing lupe to drop wack albums lol

Yall making a bunch of excuses instead of being real with yourselves and admitting he's a good MC and a mediocre artist/song maker.

its ok goldie

you can still be a lupe fan

I hope you are enjoying Drogas Wave

Stack that cheese young man

I do find it funny that you equate a cosign as backing though

thats laughable

They had an entire group together lol

Your introduction to hip hop was on one of the biggest songs that year, you have arguably the biggest rapper of alltime on your album, you got the hottest producer producing songs on the mf.

Yall make more excuses than a dead beat father for this mf. I know that's yall father, but cut it out.

Port-au-Prince is a kingdom, Kingston is a kingdom
New Orleans is a kingdom, South Central is a kingdom
Freedom, free men are freedom
Black life is a kingdom, why kill yourself for no reason for

is hip hop today in the same place it was 15 years ago?

im talking about artists, lyrics, business, culture, etc...

That's a vague question. What are you getting at?

its all hypothetical man b/c at the end of the day, I still think Lupe has had more disadvantages, albeit some of them self inflicted which even he admitted, more than a lot of other artists that are more popular

or maybe, just maybe, he dont care about that shit.

I've never seen an article of him complaining about how his albums have sold, but more about the blocks that have prohibited music from dropping and the way he wanted to make the music

My fake rage is just that...fake lol

Lupe could literally sell 14 copies and that wouldnt stop me from listening to his albums.

Lupe in 2006 was just skate board rapper when his debut album drop ...many at the time argue that Lupe Fiasco is not traditional hip hop and that he is killing the Culture ...that why his sales number suffered greatly
