I don't buy this because it assumes everyone wants the same shit in life. A lot of folks hear that I'm in construction and say things like 'well when you're finished that degree you won't have to break your back all day anymore' and I don't get it because I actually like physical work. Our bodies are designed to reward us with endorphins and all kinds of good body chemistry when we use them to do work. I love lifting shit - even though I'm getting body wear and tear and my doctor has told me for years that I'm not a forklift, I still do it cause I enjoy it.

Now you probably think that's different, but sex work and manual labour are actually similar in that they both make use of human bodies in traditional ways. Vice did a documentary about sex work when the laws were going to change in Canada. They interviewed some of the women at the bunny ranch out in Vegas. These women said they really like their jobs - they go into work and have sex. So I don't buy your reasoning.

I disagree. They're both forms of sexed labour - the things that make the sexes distinct are the things which are being monetized. They are also both things that make people feel good. Sex and manual labour are things that society has decided should be looked down on even though people enjoy them and they are the oldest professions.
