Welcome To aBlackWeb

Lifetime’s “Surviving R. Kelly” Docuseries(aka The #MeToo Summer Jam Screen series) Trailer

We need a Russell Simmons Doc, Elvis doc, didn’t someone mention that Puffy knocked up Nisa when she was 16? We need that doc; them big haired rock bands white boys loved teenagers as well we need those docs as well

Only thing you gonna do is excuse it and bring up 20 other white dudes

I don't think anyone here is defending this muhfucker, just like no one defended Cosby when he got his comeuppence. Kels been on sick ass shit for DECADES, and to be perfectly honest, how he beat the trial was sad as fuck. (and mad Aaron McGruder a goddamn prophet)

For the official record: there's not a soul in here who doesn't think he shouldn't be at least seven year into a 20-year prison sentence.

HOWEVER.....here's what I think people won't tolerate:

In this society now, the common norm is now if someone gets denounced, we ALL have to denounce them and all of their works, past present and future, or we're "defending" them. THAT is bullshit, almost borderline-fascist bullshit.

People not gonna be guilt-shamed, bullied, Twitter-intimidated into saying suddenly deleting all of this muhfucka's work, especially if they've dug it WHILE we all knew Kels was on fuckshit.....

....just like people still like "Ghost Dad", "Leonard part 6", "Uptown Saturday Night" or anything else that Cos put out....
....just like people still listen to anything Dre puts out, knowing he done beat a squad of broads in his day and never saw time for it....
...just like we still fuck with Pun, even though his wife already made it public that he beat her ass...
...and this list goes on, potentially for MILES.

The issue is this: if you hate that nigga, fine. you have the right. But trying to shame others for not sharing your level of disgust....well, that's the mentality that help this Orange Bitch win the White House.

In order words: keep your outrage to your muhfuckin self, especially if you knew all the way back about Aaliyah being fed to Kels, but you still got ass to '12 Play' or 'Sex Me' or any of those TP2.com hits.

How long between his his case ending....and this coming up?
How long was the thing about the girl being trained last year and the Cosby case?

If you can't say fuck rkelly but why this happenjng now...then you'll never get what he's saying.
You kinda do but you not putting it together because your stuck on your point which he's not disagreeing with.

Dawg this documentary has been in the works for years. years. These women have been trying to tell their story for years. This is why I told you earlier that you are not being fair to the real victims here. These girls were as young as 12 years old. 12!!!! You're trying to put an arbitrary timeline on when it is acceptable for them to share their experience? This is why women have a hard time coming forward. Look at all of this doubt and resistance being thrown at these black women who are brave enough to even show their faces and tell their stories that absolutely ruined their lives. He took their fucking childhood and their womanhood from them. Never question the timing of when someone might be ready to share their truth with complete strangers.

His case ending? Nigga people have tried to stop and intervene since the 90's. There was plenty of documented reasons why they were unsuccessful including fear, money, enablers, abuse, mental illness, a flawed legal system.

My question to you is this. Why does the timing matter to you? When a child is taken advantage of in such a way why is there a timeline on when that child should stand up and speak for themselves? I mean if you even listen to one of the girls she tells you why she did it. She admitted that she was scared and she didn't know what would happen if she didn't go along with it. She was 14 my nigga. It's never the responsibility of the child to be the one to fix this and yes we are all taking the adults who were in compliance to task to. They are not getting a pass. What we are saying is at the end of the day this is about Robert Kelly. Yes there were and there are other people but we're talking abut R. Kelly right now.

Nigga, R. Kelly doesn't represent all black men and also why would any black man feel that way if they don't have anything to hide?
R Kelly doesn’t represent all black men but they make people like him the face of these types of things which in turn is used to demonize black men in general. This is old shit bruh where have you been?

Nobody is shaming you. Some of y'all are just defending R. Kelly and you just don't now it. If your response to this whole thing is to remind people that they aren't gonna tell you what and how to feel then you shouldn't respond at all. What's the point of that?

My guy,

Robert Kelly has been abusing minors for 30 years. Nothing coming to light in January 2019 is going to change that. he's a musical genius and he rapes. It's been like that for 30 years. You're really stepping out on a limb thinking this is going to start some movement to target black men. Especially since there are specific things that R. Kelly is being taken to task for like being a pedophile. Are you suggesting that racist white America and black women are going to start movements that accuse us black men as pedo's?
Jesus Christ.

R Kelly doesn’t represent all black men but they make people like him the face of these types of things which in turn is used to demonize black men in general. This is old shit bruh where have you been?

Oh my god bruh....

Nobody is making R. Kelly the face of anything. If you believe that then you are admitting that you haven't been paying attention the last 30 years. Just admit that this is all new information to you.

fam, idk whats going on here.

Im not attacking you. Im trying to understand your pov...not troll

you keep saying its an attempt to demonize black men. Thats where the disconnect is for me. IDK how you can say this is an attack or whatever on black men b/c he nor his views/morals, etc...are an indication of black men as a whole?

If this was a documentary about black men in prison who rape female COs or something, i could see your position, but this aint that

are people anti black man? or are they anti R.kelly?

R.kelly is a bad man that happens to be black, but not all black men are bad men. Not all black men are rapists.
Bruh this is what they do. Whether you like it or not the media and white supremacy uses the actions of one black man to paint all black men as the same. This R Kelly thing is the same play from the centuries old playbook. No amount of denial on your part will change reality.

We as humans.....Well some of us are fucked up!

Just about every famous pedophile case has had all the same elements..color ain't got nothing to do with it..

priest in church
Jerry Sandusky
r.kelly

And that is "Money n Power "

Money n power allows some of the most fucked up shit to happen to the underprivileged.

Every time!

Bruh, stop it.
You know exactly where I stand...
Who said a child should fix this?
I have always put this on adults.
Kelly can only be Kelly because no one stood up to him.
He didn't snitch kids run and rape.
People knew and said nothing, why?
That's my issue.
Why are kids not feeling empowered enough to tell what they saw?
If they know its not right?
No im not blaming kids...I'm blaming the adults who did not give them a voice. I blame adults who didn't make them feel safe or that safety mattered first.
Its alor more questions I have than answers. You can keep focusing in Kelly...I'm going to focus on how was he able to do shit with people around.

In order for the shit to not happen again...putting kelly in jail won't help if another pedo comes along and people still not saying anything.

A our kids should have a voice to speak up if they witness something.

It don't bother you that you said the girl was young on a tour bus for one, but that she didn't feel she could tell anyone? Even if she is a victim, you don't find it odd?
And just to be clear since y'all like twisting shit....I'm not saying its on her...but the adults in her life obviously didn't make her feel safe enough to speak about wrongs. And this is when I bring up a community...that failed.
