I don't think you understand how this shit works. Him doing that doesn't promote his movie at all. It jeopardized it. They already cancelled the grand opening for it. Again, regardless of how you feel about him or what he did, anyone claiming that doing this helps him in any way is being willfully ignorant.

I'm not really sure, but the point of what dude did seems to be flying over some heads here. He's admitting to having been racist and having done something incredibly racist before. That's the whole point of the story. He's not trying to deny or redefine it. He's purposely acknowledging it to make a point of how people can and should move on away from it.
