Lets talk credit and credit cards

Capital One is gonna probably be the first credit card I apply for after my bankruptcy discharge

They kept sending me offers even though they were part of my bankruptcy lol

Capital One don’t care long as you have a pulse they’ll give you money. APR maybe high as fuck tho. I got a car loan from them ten years ago I paid it off as quick as I could cuz the interest was insane. I was at a bad spot at that point tho.

Join a credit union if you can. Also open up a line of credit at like a jewelry store. Buy something pay it off quickly as a close homie/family (who's responsible)to add you on their credit so you can piggyback off their credit history.

That'll help your credit grow

I already got a navy federal credit union debit card. Gonna get their secured credit card eventually

They sent me 2 offers in the mail today lol

Capital One don’t quit!

I've had a credit card since 2000, my freshmen year in undergrad. It was originally MBNA, but changed to Bank of America once BoA bought them out.

I've also had an AMEX since 2011. The most debt I've ran up was around 7K, when I paid for us to go to South Africa last year. First, that got me a TON of points, but isn't anything I can't handle since I was able to fit it into my budget.

As far as credit score, I ain’t trippin. High 700s-low 800s, depending on what service is doing it.

Fuck Capitol One

I would choose discover over them
Cosign. Here's the fucked up thing about Capital One. If you're trying to clean up your credit and say you had a late payment or whatever with them and you call to get that taken off they will NOT take it off for shit. They'll keep that shit on your credit report forever. Fuck them and that's coming from someone who has two credit cards with them that I don't use. One I have my son so he can build credit and one I use to pay my TV subscriptions for to also build me credit as well.

If y'all need help rebuilding your credit or want to take things off your credit you can do it yourself OR file bankruptcy and get fresh new start.

There's a stigma with filing bankruptcy and lames will think you failed in life because of but it's actually not and it's a tool to help you get back on your feet. You have to set yourself up tho to win BEFORE you file for it. Have a place to stay, join a credit union, have a solid family member or friend to lean on to help you build credit, transportation and employment.

If you have those things file it. Then begin your rebuild and learn from your mistakes and adopt the motto to "earn and not burn" you'll be back winning easily.

It won't take a big hit like you think it will. You may drop 10-30pts or you may rise 10-20pts. The problem comes when trying to establish new credit

That’s why I’m gonna get a few secured credit cards and used them and pay them off immediately. I got a plan for all that

If you have a Netflix or TV subscriptions use your credit card to pay for them. Then pay it off before the 30th of each month and just keep doing it for about a year if possible. That'll establish to creditors that you have a solid credit history.

Also buy gas on your card as well but just remember to pay the card off before the new cycle starts. It'll will help you out then just rinse and repeat.
