Bottom line. The Roots have albums from 25+ years ago. Of course they're not going to sound fresh and new, but they don't sound dated either.

Anyway, The Roots have two Greatest Hits compilations worth buying/downloading. They're called The Beginner's Guide To Understanding The Roots Vol 1 & 2.
