You're not supposed to eat leftovers after 3 days, 4 max...that's when the chance of foodborne illness increases

Opening and closing of the refrigerator causes temperature fluctuations, some areas (zones) are warmer than others and the food may not be stored correctly

If you still have leftovers after day 3 or 4, freeze the rest

And some people just don't want to eat the same thing for more than a couple of days
