Imma let some time pass before giving my detailed critique of how I feel about the album. But as of now, this album is basically trash. *shrugs*

Immaculate production though, as always... but it contains a lot of songs that I feel will fade over a short period of time. Just how I see it right now, this may change a few months/couple of years or so. But I think 80% of the music on this won't age too well.

1) @BlackRain & @grYmes let me first say, YES you can unlearn being a coon. i am hoping one day a lot of yall are released from the shackles of COONDOM and turn away from your wicked coonish ways :scust:

secondly, im NOT a fan of kanye and havent listened to any album of his in full past “MBDTF” your reasons for NOT listening to kanyes latest drop have nothing to do with me. I dont care who these celebrities align themselves with. I find both dems and repubs to be heinous, violent, and extremely hostile towards Black communities. So Kanye vouching for republicans makes about as much sense as diddys “vote or die” campaign.
I, for one, dont even play the mindless reindeer games when it comes to the Black misleadership class backing politicians who are actively destroying the communities of their consumers. its bad enough i have to sit and listen to said consumer population on abw and beyond, make excuses for the ongoing degradation sitting right in front of their faces

listen, terrible politics in general kills my fandom (hence me not listening to a kanye west album post “MBDTF”) and why i barely listen to any music coming from mr intellectual lay-Z. however, my current disdain for their headass opinions doesn’t mean i cant listen to an album, just like my disapproval of yalls political/social opinions doesnt bar me from engaging with your post.

TBH i really wanted to get up here and clown niggas for listening to kanye, i wanted to wag my finger and say “yall niggas love listening to bullshit” BOY!!!!

did i want to stick it to yall!!! :hehe2:but as a hip hop head i had to listen to the album first and it was decent *surprisingly*
so i wrote a post about it. nothing more, nothing less

furthermore, comparing kanye to r kelly is asinine and not even worth me debating further. ill let beta and elBOZO spin their wheels into their heads pop on that one

but i will say, its mighty funny how, the same niggas refusing to listen to donda because kanye’s a trumpster, actively voted for a racist sexual abuser just a year ago. :foh3:

Too many words Poindexter......this shit trash

This album sounds unfinished to me. Especially the way he lets some of the beats ride out at the end of the songs. They're not beats that are dope enough to just let em play

Whoa didn’t expect to hear Jay elec lol
I never know what the hell he talking about.
Good music or not tho, I still consider Kanye West a coon and one of the biggest coons of all time in Hip-Hop if not the biggest.

But I can separate the man from the artist like I can for Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and others and solely take in their music.
I don't see how people can't disconnect the 2 especially if the content isn't talking about the bs

Griselda killed that track! I really want kanye to produce an album for them. *chefs kiss*

So I finally listened to Donda in full and I give it a 7/10. The production was flawless, sonically Kanye hits the mark. The features did an outstanding job! let me find out it takes a kanye album to bring the best out of people. :tuh: Fivio did his big one ☝🏾 and roddy ricch spazzed.

as for its failures? afterwhile donda becomes one run on sentence, a 4 page essay with no punctuation especially after track 21. the songs from 21 to 26 just becomes elevator music. the plot gets lost in translation and swallowed up by chants of jesus

the last 5 songs are a clear indication that this album didnt need 26 songs, a HUGE editing flop.

all in all, i actually liked it more than i thought i would. it wasnt a terrible listen and i didnt have to skip any tracks or go hunt kanye west down and demand an explanation for this project.

im sure ill play it in the car a time or two or play it in the background while cleaning up or having friends over. other than that? im closing donda and putting it back on the shelf and hoping this album reflects a man willing to grow and change for the better.

26 is the number of Gods Name in Hebrew

YHVH

y = 10
h= 5
v= 6
h= 5

The meaning of the letters when put together (every hebrew letter is number and a pictograph word) is

Y = hand
H = behold
V = nail
H = behold

Who was pierced in His hand with a nail?

I see what you are trying to say, but opinions can change over time. Just gotta let the art marinate if that makes any sense.

For example, I thought Jeezy's Thug Motivation 101 was utterly garbage waste with very dope, outta the world like production when it first dropped. 4-5 years later I revisited the album and then I realized what the whole hype was about. Now I personally think it is one of the best albums ever.

As for this, I just think it is super overhyped. Smart rollout and marketing play by Ye and his camp but still... 30 or so artists features, the competition/back and forth with Drake, and the multiple pump-faking is gimmicky as fuck. It stole the album's anticipation IMO. Also, certain cuts on the album make me wonder like, why? IE the Pop Smoke (RIP) joint.

But that's why I said maybe it may grow on me, but as for now, I feel a lot of it won't age well.
