ok on track 12, got about 80 more to go. :yikes1:so far the production is incredible, i mean truly exquisite but lets get real, kanyes lyrics are fucking ass. he’s notorious for drowing out his scattered thought patterns with elaborate transitions and sound manipulation

the lyrics on remote control sound like some next level mother goose rhyme

wait i hear westsidegunn

This muh'fucka needs to make amends with GLC, Rhymefest, and whoever else that was helping him with the content and lyrics from MBDTF days down to College Dropout.

Good music or not tho, I still consider Kanye West a coon and one of the biggest coons of all time in Hip-Hop if not the biggest.

But I can separate the man from the artist like I can for Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and others and solely take in their music.
I'm a music nerd bro but won't front it's still hard for me. I'm trying though.

So far this is a very strong effort and return to form.

I knew when that nigga left Kim his shit would get way better again. Felt like on previous albums he was asking for her musical input smh.

The production is incredible and I gotta respect how Ye always goes outside the box with his music, in getting Shenseea on and a few others MOST artists wouldn't have attempted.
return to form? I need to know what kinda form you're talking about. rapping and lyrics wise it's hit or miss imo. some of it sounds like a rough draft that should've been gone over again and reworked. as far as production, I can't really say anything bad but it's hard to give Ye credit for it when damn near every track has 6-8 producers listed.

Griselda killed that track! I really want kanye to produce an album for them. *chefs kiss*

So I finally listened to Donda in full and I give it a 7/10. The production was flawless, sonically Kanye hits the mark. The features did an outstanding job! let me find out it takes a kanye album to bring the best out of people. :tuh: Fivio did his big one ☝🏾 and roddy ricch spazzed.

as for its failures? afterwhile donda becomes one run on sentence, a 4 page essay with no punctuation especially after track 21. the songs from 21 to 26 just becomes elevator music. the plot gets lost in translation and swallowed up by chants of jesus

the last 5 songs are a clear indication that this album didnt need 26 songs, a HUGE editing flop.

all in all, i actually liked it more than i thought i would. it wasnt a terrible listen and i didnt have to skip any tracks or go hunt kanye west down and demand an explanation for this project.

im sure ill play it in the car a time or two or play it in the background while cleaning up or having friends over. other than that? im closing donda and putting it back on the shelf and hoping this album reflects a man willing to grow and change for the better.

One of Kanye's greatest strengths is the gift of collaboration and raising the level of his features. I'm not really big on most of the features on here but they all did put in their BEST ( I still think Kendrick's cousin almost threw off the vibe of Praise God might as well just have had Kendrick on there)

But yeh this shit does sound like one long song at some point and a lot of tracks weren't necessary. Idk if this was his idea of a "Double Disc" album but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Its better than Ye & Jesus is King that's for sure. He had a clear focus here as opposed to the prior two albums but I'm still not sure what exactly is his overall message on here. I would say he's paying homage to Chicago overall and the current scene that's flooded with these young drill folks cause thats the only way to explain the aesthetic, the whole black fits + military / police wardrobe, but I'm not gonna give him that credit.

Album is a 7/10 on first listen....
