That's a feature not a bug when you give kids who had a free ride due to their athletic prowess a lump sum of money.

NFL stands for Not For Long, right? Well after they done using your body, and destroying your brain, they get rid of you. And what you got to show for it? Let some crackers dangle a non-guaranteed contract with no pension in front of you though and you can't make heads or tails.

Why do you think athletic black people with mentorship, professional guidance, and a network of other millionaires are doomed to throw their money away with poor financial habits? People have a weird habit sometimes of speaking poorly of black people when trying to be pro-black.

Do you say white people with mentorship, financial advisors, and a 6 - 8 digit income are gonna throw it all away with poor financial decisions too?

Y'all liiiiie up in here. I posted almost exclusively in the Cheap Seats (and even there mostly just football talk) and music section on the IC. And it was mostly arguing top 5's and general sports shit talk.

Don't make up my history

We have a good amount of old ic people here. Rally em up... find some that said I use to get into it with them a lot over social issues.

He won’t...not that he can’t but his “going against the nfl” was all about him even when it became bigger than him and could help others.
But like people said...he was suing to get “his” money.

Because the NFL is a shitty organization that treats players like slaves. BUT ALSO, it's fucked up Kap isn't in the league. But also Kap sees working out for teams as similar to a slave auction. But also Kap wants teams to bring him in for a workout.

I think comparing things to slavery is generally bullshit because it downplays the evils of slavery. Also, in this case it's implying the people conducting the combine are evil for it (because it's directly comparing them to people buying/selling slaves).

Also, it's what a lot of companies do...an assessment. If you work in IT you may be asked to do some computer shit before you get a job... if you're an electrician you may be asked to work on some electrical equipment before you get a job... if you're a welder you may be asked to weld something before you get a job. Well... when you're an athlete you may be asked to do some athletic shit before you get a job.

It bothers me because it's bullshit, and his actions show he knows it's bullshit. He said he dedicated a lot of time and energy to stay NFL ready, and he wanted to play for a team again. He even set up his own "slave display" (according to him) to prove himself to teams.

But then he comes out with this. If people don't think his talk isn't matching his walk on this, then I don't know what to tell them.

This man said he was training pretty much everyday waiting to get a shot to be back in the NFL. Set up his own private workout for a shot to be back in the NFL. Said over and over again he wants to play again. That didn't work out, so now being in the NFL is like being a slave?

Professional sports have helped the black community greatly by providing wealth, opportunities, and goals. Also, it's given black people the means to create opportunities for other black people to succeed and escape bad situations.

And LOL at him thinking that power dynamic line in the beginning was gonna hit hard. You think players don't know there's a power dynamic with players, assistant coaches, head coaches, GM's and team owners? That's just called a job Colin...power dynamics exist with most jobs. These players have had coaches a good percentage of their lives... they know there's a power dynamic.

Because you are getting paid dont mean your still now their slave because the owners can take that away ANYTIME they want to when a player steps out of line. They only want their boys to shut up play, entertain them, and mainly make money. Like other poor whites they dont want to hear about you black issues.
