what does bringing up Jay made a song that influenced dudes to stop wearing throwback jerseys have to do with what we are talking about at this exact moment?

if you gonna bring up Jay, then bring up EVERY single time it has happened in pop culture where something or someone did/made something and people followed suit.

I think he was just remarking on how influential we let jay z be. That’s all. And we were younger then we didn’t know better. Like this conversation is about jayz influence right?

ehhh

bring up everyone then but people not gonna do that b/c that will force them to admit they haven't been so strong minded their entire lives instead of keeping it a buck and admitting that they too have fallen under the influence of someone with a higher public profile than themselves.

Cmon now. We all have been influenced by something before and we all have looked at certain people as foolish based on what influences them. I get it you feel it’s childish or seems like gloating. But it’s not a distraction. But it’s a topic people feel strong on so ya know.

Ah ok

I think it's like this....

Niggaz watched Jay grow financially. Like literally from a independent rapper to s real life billionaire with a superstar perfect 10 wife.

Like he the real American dream for niggaz. He came from the projects to be the man like a ghetto Scarface. Dropping great music and gems and trends the whole way.

Niggaz love hip hop and Jay is essentially a hero to niggaz. Black man that defied all odds.

And instead of joining the Justice League..... This nigga joined the legion of doom.

And instead of seeing it for what it is. Niggaz wanna wait for it to be something else.

You want it one way. But it's the other way.

Never meet your idols.

All that shit. Jay about making money and business moves. He has no allegiance to any cause but his own. He understands his position in the black community and is utilizing it for another business venture.

He's being called out for it now..... But the reality is so deeply set in to his mentality and all his moves.... It's kinda like...

How didn't we seev this earlier?

But that's why I say people are never really who you think they are. We think we knew that man. His fans still think they know him.

But none of us really do. An actions speak louder than words. All his actions suggest he's in every cause he's in to turn a profit with no genuine attachment to what that cause is.

listen, this is deeper than forum tokens. this is deeper than shaming each other for being “right and wrong”

the optics of this, a white woman cutting a young Black kids locs off, is enmeshed in colonialism. this is violent as fuck. no matter how YOU try to spin it.

jayz knew the majority of yall would ride no matter how shabby the deal looked from jump. he knew the majority of you niggas are gullible as fuck. you are so worried about having “a seat at the table”—scratch that, so worried about having a spokesperson at the table LMAO you dont even care if the table is corrupt and/or anti-Black to begin with. you dont even care about all the other ppl that could possibly be sitting at the table that are profiting off your extinction. didnt even think critically enough to ask yourself “why does this table even exist”

jay has been rich for damn near two decades and you feel he has your best interest in mind? really? because he green-lighted some documentaries? paid some funeral expenses? and gave some entertainers a tax break? LMAOOO thats what all capitalist do, donate to charities and spearhead certain projects under the guise of “philanthropy” whilst cherry picking who will be temporarily saved from the ongoing disaster of capital.

niggas went wrong in labeling jayz an activist.

yes, jay has done some good deeds but after Barclays, the atlantic yards project, and his investment in an ankle monitoring company—-and what now appears to be a godawful partnership with the NFL—one has to ask themselves “WHAT THE ENTIRE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?”

lesson: there are 0 heroes in the heart of empire.

this should be a lesson for all of you

get your self esteem up.
because only a ppl with very low self esteem and self awareness would laud and put a spotlight on a billionare for partnering with a corrupt institution, instead of a microscope.
What does "there are 0 heroes in the heart of empire" mean?
