You're trying to simplify it to make your point but as soon as you add the context you're trying to ignore it doesn't fit the way you want. You know what exacerbates R. Kelly is the fact that the content of 95% of his music is about sex. Now if Jay caught some sort of drug charge you'd have a better comparison to make on the outside circumstances that contributed to why some people stopped listening to R. Kelly.
Just because the outcome of something is the same don't mean you ignore the things around it. If you wanna attach Jay name to R. Kelly then those 2 albums are enough on its own.
