They having their carnival type celebration in February too, right? I know a bunch of the islands have something in February.

I haven’t been to DR in a few years. I gotta make my way back out there.
 
Would it at all be a shock if the people in the middle of this war that apparently we had a hand in decided to… cross the boarder into America to escape the violence? Guess they would be criminals, huh?

Yeah DR Independence Day is February 27th Friday and my Birthday is February 28th Saturday, I was going to be lit this weekend

The US has funded and armed militias across Latin America for decades leaving behind instability and then act shocked when there's consequences that come from doing that

I haven’t been to the Dominican Republic Carnival, I believe it takes place the last half of January and the first half of February.

Bruh, close to half of the people in the DR have African ancestry, but they almost all deny that they are black. Plus their anti-Haitianism is vicious.

There are other islands with a majority black population who have no issues with their blackness. Might be more expensive though.

Those cartel gangs are dangerous, because they are military trained. There are a group of the members that are ex-military and they bring that with them and train the non-military cartel members. Then the Cartel bosses have the resources to equip them with whatever military grade weapons/tools they need. So they end up being more powerful than the actual government. The government realizes this and eventually caves and allows them to basically run a narco state in their country.
Is more peaceful to let one cartel run the show and keep the other ones in check.
 
Watching this UFC even in Mexico. I don't know. I feel like if I was in Mexico I would be like "Fuck everything American" after we basically forced them into something that got a lot of innocent Mexican people killed.
