Looking to change careers entirely and IT/Tech is something I think might be the direction.

My only thing is I like people lol, I don't want to be sitting at a computer all day with no human interaction.

My current/ old profession is Training (Learning ) and Development. I basically teach in corporate America. Before the pandemic I was considering a masters degree in Organizational psychology or HR related program. Trying to go further up into management but from a HR perspective. I love making the work place better through Training and Team Building ( core of what I did). I analyze retention and on-boarding standards.

But since the pandemic hit, that world has drastically changed. Most of the training is virtual or has been cut completely. Lol when money goes Training usually the 1st thing companies cut. I get it kinda ,training is a cog and some companies don't see the value in it.

But I am really interested in VR...I don't know shit about what it takes to create. And I dont think I could start a whole new career in VR lol. But the idea excites me a little. And I just think with the type of lifestyle I desire , I feel like IT s where it's at.

Anyone into VR or even AR?

What's everyone's thoughts on ChatGPT? I've been playing with it and wow. And this is only the beginning? Personal AI assistants are really about to become a thing..

So I’m 2 months into my IT healthcare job. It’s amazing. I’m still training but soon they gonna have me traveling by myself to hospitals to fix their dispensing machines. I just checked my bank account this morning and I’m getting paid more in one week than my old mail job for 2 weeks. Heard they miss me lol. FOH. Life is good

You’re going to be going around the country or in your state?
How’s the work-life balance??

I recently switched gigs and these niggas have my Monday and Tuesday as off days. I hate it.

Around the country. Fly out Monday, work Tuesday through Thursday and fly home Friday mostly. I’m a single man under 40 with no kids so I welcome an opportunity like this

@Old Man Cain congratulations on the promotion!

So you plan on staying at Google, or still heading somewhere else?
I'm going to ride this out for awhile get a few certs on their dime then eventually transition into IT Project Mgmt then get myself and a few friends company up and running.

My homie and his partner have a IT company that helps smaller business compete, they manage all their IT needs they have a few contracts now in the SC area homie wants me to come on to be a PM for them and talk to customers and lead the projects while him and his partner handle the network, storage and cloud services the customer may need. Also got my own network cabling company that i need to get back up and running. I let it die out in July last year due to starting my new gig and training but I need that extra income now. A nigga got a kid going to college lol smh

@Old Man Cain I don’t think I wanna be a project manager anymore lol. I’ve been told some horror stories about the position
lol yeah man when you're a PM you're what I like to call the "First" meaning, you're going to be the FIRST person the upper mgmnt going to reach out to if anything go left, you're going to be the FIRST person the customer is going to yell at if shit goes left and you're definitely going to be the FIRST person the staff going to yell at if they don't have either the budget or the supplies they need to do the work.

Shit is mad stressful depending on the type of job's you're managing. Current roll I have, I manage up to 50mil in budget 2 vendor companies and 285+ person head count.

I’m gonna continue to be an analyst for now and weighing my options. Still an easy job and the flying has somewhat been limited due to manufacturing issues. Still thinking about being a PM but I’m in no hurry
