In the context of war, no. Did the US know about Pearl Harbor or 9/11 beforehand? Would that change us going after the killers?
The whole "they knew beforehand" is usually a misdirect to blame the victim. Doesn't even make sense when the current regime in Israel bases it's platform and this attack was a blow to it. There's no benefit to letting it happen. And this is coming an Israel hater
