What exactly is wrong with him being in a passive role though? If it works for their relationship, who are we to say it shouldn't be that way?

Plus I think in most healthy relationships "leading" can shift between a couple
.

The bold is true...but the desire to consistently have to see yourself as the "leader" in order to validate manhood overpowers that for some.

Ding ding ding ding ding.

A real leader knows how and when to follow. Lead your woman when she needs to be led and stand back and let her shine when its her turn to do so.

It's her Vogue cover, of course she would be front and center. All I see is Rocky holding down his seed and his woman in their moment of glory.

What could be manlier that that?

lol niggas cant even take a pic with they family without folks tryna dissect it into some weirdo shit
Exactly. It's always some shit with folks on the internet trying to flip some shit and call it simpin'. I mean folks have really went overboard on stupidity.

I don’t speak “alpha/beta shit”…..

I simply believe in roles and positions

The picture you just posted is actually dope….that woulda been a better cover of Rocky consoling a pregnant Rihanna…

I just don’t see a woman “leading” a man as he follows behind her as manly….sorry if y’all disagree…I grew up in a household with a military background and the values were towards patriarchy

For example….when we open the doors the man goes in first and the woman follows behind… not the other way around

When you walk down the street…the man stays on the OUTSIDE while the woman on the inside

Also at cookouts/dinners the men get their plates first

Understand what we DOIN HERE NOW? @rip.dilla

Definitely thought it was ladies first? Up north niggas different the walking close to the curb is cool. That food serving shit a damn social media debate now

Rocky's just perfecting the formula laid out by the goat "kept man"

Seriously tho, I'll be making or you can make, or anyone can make a thread on patriarchy.

Anything away from this particular couple and example as it's more encompassing than them

You said you wanted to make the thread so go ahead and make it bro

I don’t get offended easily…I have VERY thick skin and people will tell you that so my attitude is anything goes lol

Hey Tay….the reason why I don’t believe in that is because consistency matters…

There’s a reason why when the Titanic sank it was “women and children first” while the men had to stay last. Why? Because it was men who built it and had to take the fall.

There’s a reason why when war breaks it’s men who lead and fight in the army. Why? Men are given the strength to build nations…so they are the ones now responsible of protecting it.

The internet turns everything into an extreme and context is difficult to find. I’m not one of these Kevin Samuels/Alpha Male losers who believe it’s “weak/simp-like” for a man to love and respect his woman. A man should be ready to die for his family and always show protection and affection

However there are still roles and positions I believe need to be displayed and respected….the cover of the magazine ain’t even that serious to me. They can do whatever they like….I simply don’t believe it’s “manly” for a man to follow behind and be led by a woman while the woman is clearly showing more domain. I don’t see how that’s an extreme view at all

I saw other pictures in here that I thought looked way better.

The John Legend picture for example is a perfect display of a man consoling his wife and showing leadership…pictures like that are perfect. It doesn’t have to hard-nosed all the time

Did you not know women have been in the military for decades?
