how much did the store lose?

my thinking is that muhfucka stole 100

gave the 100 back but still stole 70 worth of product....

He got 30 back in change... so in total that would be 70 in product and 30 in cash equalling 100

Can anyone who has a different answer explain where this post is wrong?
