I'm going to post this on George Washington Carver. I know he's one of the names that gets thrown around more than others for Black History Month. The thing is people usually get his accomplishments wrong. lol He's often credited with creating peanut butter, which ironically, is one of the few peanut related things he didn't do.

Dude was such an authority that white farmers basically went to him and begged him to advocate for the industry in front of Congress. Who in the hell gets a standing ovation from Congress? That must have been one hell of a speech.
