Welcome To aBlackWeb

Movie was good. Like I said it's a twist on a old school movie called Stepford Wives. I went in on it shaky because Peele is the least funniest nigga ever. To my surprise it was 100x better than expected.

well i would invite myself over to watch but...i didnt get the invite so...sad face

Watched it last night, pretty good movie, definitely worth a watch.

Does anybody else feel this was a parable, like there's a message within the movie? and I'm not talking about "leave these white bitches alone" lol

saw a post on facebook that point out like 20 subtle but deliberate clues in the movie...all kinds of spoilers, but it as enough for me to want to buy the movie when it comes out....

i haven't seen it in the theater, but i love horror, thrillers, and obviously good writing,.....

just the fact that the shit was this deep and impactful, i'm already inspired

Im gonna watch it again tonight and post a thorough review tomorrow, detailing the message I took from the film.

Peele intentionally put a lot of things in this movie that are reflective of society and he plans on building a movie verse continuing these themes. From a 4.5 budget he's made over 87 million and it's only been about two weeks.

Could have went my whole life without seeing get out. I felt the movie could have went way deeper with the subject matter. I was entertained but the movie just fell flat for me in so many areas. An interesting question the movie does raise for me is how many black people wouldn't need that surgery because they're already conditioned?

Hmm these are just my thoughts tho. I give it a C-

"Over the weekend, ā€œGet Outā€ director Jordan Peele quietly made history when he became the first African-American writer-director to earn $100 million with his debut movie.

In its third weekend of release, the horror-satire continued to show long legs despite strong competition from two big blockbusters, ā€œLoganā€ and ā€œKong: Skull Island.ā€ The film only saw a 25 percent drop off from the previous weekend to hold to an estimated $21 million, bringing its domestic cume to an estimated $111 million.

Not only did Peele, who produced as well as wrote and directed ā€œGet Out,ā€ achieve the milestone with a $4 million budget and a largely unknown cast, he set a new studio record for Blumhouse in the process. ā€œGet Outā€ only needed 16 days for its domestic cume to pass the nine-digit mark. That breaks the record set by Blumhouseā€™s other 2017 hit, ā€œSplit,ā€ which reached $100 million in 19 days."

Congrats to Peele
