True but they fail to mention that southern whites talk the same way and cajun folks.....smh

Yeah, his criticism is off the mark. The problem is that the book doesn't really distinguish that black vernacular can vary pretty widely from region to region in the U.S. It's true that not every black person talks like that. It's all so true that there are plenty of blacks that say everyone one of those things even "seben." It needs more context.

I guess you can take pride in that if you want to. In the South we happily speak the way we speak and ain't really trying to annunciate the way white people do.
