Trump Camp Invokes Familiar Refrain On Ukraine Call: Dems Just Want To ‘Take Out’ Trump

The Trump campaign seemingly pulled its response to the memo on the Trump-Urkraine call straight from the horse’s mouth.

In a statement on Wednesday, Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale claimed the “facts” show Trump did “nothing wrong,” baselessly claiming the hubbub over the call is just part of Democrats’ and the media’s mission to “take out the President.”

“Because of their pure hatred for President Trump, desperate Democrats and the salivating media already had determined their mission: take out the President. The fact is that the President wants to fight the corruption in Washington, where the Bidens, the Clintons, and other career politicians have abused their power for personal gain for decades,” Parscale said. “The facts prove the President did nothing wrong. This is just another hoax from Democrats and the media, contributing to the landslide re-election of President Trump in 2020.”

The White house on Wednesday released its version of the Ukraine call, which effectively proves Trump asked the Ukrainian government for a “favor” when military funding was discussed and outright asked the new president to look into his political opponent former Vice President Joe Biden. Trump also asked Ukraine for help discrediting special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.

Nadler: Barr Must Recuse, Trump ‘Dragged The Attorney General Into This Mess’

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NJ) said Wednesday that Attorney General Bill Barr should recuse himself in light of the revelation Wednesday that Trump told the Ukrainian president he should contact Barr to discuss dirt on Joe Biden.

During a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25, the memorandum of which the White House released Wednesday, Trump repeatedly brings up Barr and says he will put Zelensky in touch with Barr to discuss an effort to dig up dirt on Joe Biden.

“The President dragged the Attorney General into this mess,” Nadler wrote on Twitter after the transcript was released. “At a minimum, AG Barr must recuse himself until we get to the bottom of this matter. #UkraineTranscript.”

The Justice Department said in a statement after the transcript was released that Trump “has not spoken with the Attorney General about having Ukraine investigate anything relating to former Vice President Biden or his son.”

Still, Barr is involved in the continuing legal battle over Trump’s actions — namely, in the fate of a still-unreleased whistleblower’s complaint that reportedly mentioned the July 25 call, among other matters.

The complaint, now in possession of Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire, would normally have gone to congressional intelligence committees for review. However, the Trump administration has refused to hand it over.

The Justice Department provided the legal justification for stonewalling: In a memo from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, the whistleblower’s complaint was deemed not to be an “urgent concern” and therefore not subject to the requirement that it be given to Congress.

Schiff Lambasts Barr, DOJ For Interfering In Whistleblower Complaint

House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) slammed Attorney General Bill Barr and the Department of Justice on Wednesday for helping President Donald Trump cover up a whistleblower’s complaint.

During a press conference on the Ukraine scandal, Schiff said that Trump invoking Barr in his request for Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden “adds another layer of depravity” to Trump’s phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July.

The Democratic lawmaker also hit the Justice Department and Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire for refusing to hand over the whistleblower’s complaint about Trump’s call to Congress.

“Now, I know the attorney general is denying involvement in this, but nonetheless you can see why the Department of Justice would want this transcript never to see the light of day,” Schiff said. “You can see why they have worked so hard to deprive our committee of the whistleblower complaint.”

He added that the Justice Department’s “startling” opinion “advances the absurd claim that the director of national intelligence has no responsibility over efforts to prevent foreign interference in our elections.”

“It is a sad fact that the director of national intelligence would agree to be bound by that view, that the director of national intelligence would adopt the view that he had no jurisdiction over an effort to seek foreign interference in our election,” he said.

Trump Grasps At Fox News’ Dismissal Of White House’s Ukraine Call Memo

As the explosive Ukraine scandal continues to unfold, President Donald Trump found refuge in his favorite cable news network on Wednesday to downplay the White House’s memo on Trump’s call with Ukraine.

After the White House released its notes on Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that revealed Trump had asked Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden, the President tweeted a quote from Fox News host Bret Baier, who said “But to the President’s point, you don’t see a direct quid pro quo in the language tying this to that.”

To further boost the narrative that he hadn’t withheld almost $400 million in aid to Ukraine to force an investigation into his top political rival, Trump then tweeted a clip of Fox News White House reporter John Roberts also giving cover to the White House.

“That language or even that suggestion exists nowhere in this document,” Robert said.

However, the White House’s document contains a disclaimer that admits the memo is “not a verbatim transcript.”

Additionally, the notes show that Trump demanded that Ukraine “do us a favor”after Zelensky asked for more military aid from the U.S.

The man low key a genius, wouldn't doubt if the "whistle blower" is his mans

All this does is get Joe Bidens name out in the media, and a ton of uninformed voters believing that Trump fears Joe Biden, which of all of the challengers from the democratic side is the one logically, that he should fear least. His based is life long Democrats and minority members who follow percieved power and not message.

Lowkey think Pelosi knew they were getting gamed

Trump Supports Transparency — From Biden And Democrats

After his administration attempted to block a whistleblower’s complaint from reaching Congress, President Donald Trump declared on Wednesday that he supports full transparency — from his 2020 rival Joe Biden and other Democrats.

During a press conference at the United Nations General Assembly, Trump responded to the House’s newly launched impeachment inquiry against him in wake of the whistleblower’s complaint and revelations that Trump pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Biden.

Trump said he’d told House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and other House Republicans, “I fully support transparency” on the whistleblower.

However, Trump said he also “insist on transparency from Joe Biden and his son Hunter” regarding the baseless conspiracy theory that the Bidens had engaged in corrupt behavior in China and Ukraine.

Trump said he also demands “transparency from Democrats” who, according to him, went to Ukraine and “threatened” the president of Ukraine (another unsubstantiated claim).
